He sounds nervous, but so am I.

Comey was put in a “no win” situation. He likely assumed leaks would come out so he got in front of the story. He also knew that he had pledged to tell congress if new information was discovered.

He had to say something.

The fault is not with Comey. It is with the person who created the illegal system designed to hide government records from the light of day - Clinton.

With that said, Comey’s statement that there was “no intent” looks more absurd every day. The investigation was a farce as FBI was not given, or did they demand, the tools necessary to conduct a thorough investigation and access to a Grand Jury. That could have been done over a year ago minimizing any direct impact on the election.

Comey could not win this from day 1 - it was a disaster created by Clinton and as usual with the Clinton’s there is a list of people left under the bus. Comey will probably resign to try and take some of the heat off of the FBI, but it won’t work. The FBI is now under the bus too.

The irony to me is that the nations top law enforcement officer, Loretta Lynch, will survive and thrive if Hillary wins after she refused to do her job and got caught (yes, she got caught by one reporter) meeting with Bill.

Bottom line: The Executive Branch simply can’t be trusted to investigate itself.

We need a Constitutional Amendment that somehow delivers this power back to the states.
