CANONSBURG, Pa. - Two police officers were shot early Thursday during a SWAT situation in Canonsburg, Washington County.
The officers were shot at about 4 a.m. and an active search for the shooter is ongoing.
Hopefully they figure this out. Was it an execution or a gunfight?
I was born in Carnegie, not that far away either.
No description of the perpetrator in any of the news coverage.
“responding to a domestic situation”
Sounds like it wasn’t one of those infamous no-knock raids. I’ll be checking the article for updates to see what kind of “domestic situation” — kidnapping? knife to the throat? — warranted a “SWAT team”.
It’s the top story on the local news station I was watching this morning.
They’re saying it was a domestic. Neighbor they interviewed said the perp was “from Egypt.”
Sadly, one officer has died.

Prayers for the officers and their families.
Perp/s sill loose. Local schools being closed. Local media calling it an ambush.
British papers have picked up the story. Brit articles positing shooting is Trump related.

Not wrong necessarily, but could be very misleading since no word on perp or his motive yet. Local TV station reporting neighbor heard 2 shots. Which, if accurate, really makes me wonder about an ambush.
They started taking gunfire the moment they arrived on the scene of a ‘domestic call’.
The tweet from breakingnews.com a few minutes ago:
“Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson Melinda Bondarenka says 2 Canonsburg police officers were ‘ambushed’ and shot with unknown firearm”.
One of the officers died.
I work in Canonsburg, I am currently watching the helicopters overhead.
Allegheny County bomb squad was coming down the highway when I was coming in this morning.
And, FWIW, now that Hillary is toast, if the hope of her being elected is what was keeping the bad guys’ powder dry, that ship has sailed. And I fully expect the excrement to now hit the fan.
Canonsburg is not Pittsburgh. 45 minutes away. Different county. No evidence it has anything to do with the protests in Pittsburgh.
