Millions have died so that our nation could remain safe. They gave their lives for Republicans and Democrats. We have seen a shift in our nation, but we are still a nation.
If millions died to keep the sacred trust, shouldnt we be willing to try to take back our lost territory?
Ten people ot of 36 million or so Californians go to the state capital to get some attention, and some FReepers cant wait to chime in saying, if those ten want to go, the other 36 million should have to accept it.
The nations busiest sea ports are in California. San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco is where they are located. In times of war we need those ports.
What folks have just signed on to, is a deal where anyone who gains control of California, could agree to have a Chinese or Russian military presence there. Hey, those ports would come in handy.
California has the sixth largest economy in the world. Hey, why not gift that to Mexico or a single entity Astlan?
FRee Republic resides in California. So do 35% of the voters who picked Trump over Clinton. Hey, no problem, they deserve to be abandoned by loyal citizens.
Folks we have our work cut out for us. We need to tackle the problems of unions, universities, and guys like George Soros.
If we let California go, well be playing right into their hands. Theyll focus on other states and soon well have lost the entire West coast and stats inland from there.
I know folks think they are being loyalist when they champion the cause of getting rid of bad states. In fact what they are championing is something no enemy has been able to do, take mainland United States soil without a fight.
I live in California. The largest financial support group for Free Republic every quarter for years, does as well.
California is a problem. If folks want to develop focus groups on how to change that, Im all for it. We shouldnt get rid of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, New Mexico or Colorado. We shouldnt get rid of New York or other states.
Folks, we need to come up with strategies that serve us well, not George Soros well.
I’m willing to sacrifice the San Francisco peninsula as the city/county/state/country to the liberals. We can all gather any watch then ban earthquakes in their enlightened society.
I believe in the right of self determination. If the people of California want to secede, who are we to stand in their way? If there is a popular vote (I do believe secession should be more than a majority, maybe 60%) and the state decides to leave, go in peace. A seceding state should be required to repay their share of the national debt over some period of years and the federal land within the state’s border subject to a negotiated settlement. I think we need a Constitutional amendment to layout the process.
I’m from CA.
You’ll have to do better than that.
Hey FRiend, if you see my posts on this thread, please know I am just screwing around.
George Soros needs to go away, don’t we have some unemployed Seals and Delta force that can do the right thing?
