My $0.02 worth” Thoughts of an Olde (81)< I would like to see a USA Cheerleader for Labor! Not a Secretary post but hired to show that , contrary to Jesse Jackson’s everyone can be the CEO, we need the laborers to make and fix things.

My first choice has always been Giuliani, but as mentioned he is getting a bit long in the tooth and seems to be searching for words, losing his edge.

I’ve also always had Gowdy as second choice. As already mentioned, he is not currently a prosecutor, just an investigator. Many have dragged out this idea that he got nothing done, but he has been stonewalled non stop by this corrupt administration. Hillary is a perfect example, she failed to turn over documentation requested until a subpoena had to be issued, then she deleted 33,000 emails and wiped the server, after the subpoena.

That’s been the case with just about everything Gowdy and Chaffetz have tried to do, nonstop stonewalling.

Gowdy has an excellent record as a prosecutor, is sharp as a tack, not old enough we’d have to worry about him losing his edge or dropping dead next month...

I’d go for Gowdy in a New York Minute, as the saying goes, I don’t think we’d be disappointed. and do you really think he’s not chomping at the bit to get his hands on an indictment after all he knows Hillary has done, and all the stonewalling she pulled off? He would do just as good a job as Rudy would, I’d take either of them.

What do you mean ‘we’ white man...

His vast incompetence or collusion or wanting to be loved by both sides led to folks dreaming he was the ONE to go after Hillary and would succeed where everyone else failed. Gowdy himself is the one who gave everyone this impression and what happened? Who looked to be the strong and righteously maligned person who was cool under pressure after that encounter?

It is bad enough that Hillary’s incompetence led to those deaths, what of Gowdy who stood on top of their bodies for his own self aggrandizement?

Yes, you have outed me as a 'sleeper'; I have bided my time since 1998 in order for this one moment, much like Angelina Jolie's character in "Salt".

As I always ignore folks' words and concentrate on what they actually do, what has he done in Congress; you know, besides make Hillary look like she is strong in front of a vast right wing conspiracy? I guess that is an accomplishment; do you desire more of the same?

Gowdy is a careerist. Big amnesty guy. That said I wouldn’t have a problem with him as AG. He would be a company man and follow Trump admin policy.

If that’s what the minds of those not willing to come to grips with Congress’ scope of power wishes to contrive then I’m unable to assist. He did his job in exposing the crime through questioning. It isn’t up to him to cuff her, prosecute and convict. Again, as much as there are those that would love to see it, fanaticisation of a reality that can never legally happen doesn’t make it so.

Please read the constitution on the scope of Congressional power. He can no more prosecute Hillary than I could walk right up to her and cuff her

Neither does the delusion that Gowdy is some white knight who was hampered by the rules of Congress make that any more valid, either.

Is Gowdy not a member of Congress, did he not know the terrible shackles he was operating under? Did not seem to affect him at those humble press conferences, now did it?

He was taking it to the public! He was making a case before the public to pressure for prosecution. His record as a federal prosecutor speaks for his overwhelming qualifications and knighthood

If my memory serves, the Governor of SC can appoint someone to fulfill his term. Since the Governor of SC is a republican (Nikki Haley), the replacement would almost certainly be a republican too.

It would finally give Gowdy the teeth he needs to go after the corruption with some efficacy.

I'd be pleased as pie with hi or Rudy in that seat.

He destroyed his credibility in the late 1990s when he decided to publicly clamor for the Clinton administration to launch a military campaign against Serbia on behalf of the radical Islamic separatists in Kosovo.

There are few things Trump could do to destroy my goodwill than to name any of these Beltway globalist @ssholes to positions of influence in his administration.

Whenever names like this get floated, the first thing I advise people to do is find out who has been paying their salaries over the last 10-15 years. When I see how much time people like Bolton have spent as lobbyists and working for various Beltway think tanks, I understand that you can't "drain the swamp" with these people sitting on all the lily pads.
