The hashtag #BoycottHamilton became a top trend on social media Saturday after cast members from the popular Broadway show Hamilton lectured Vice President-elect Mike Pence from the stage on Friday night.
Pence was apparently booed as he took his seat. As the performance concluded and Pence exited the theater, actor Brandon Victor Dixon lectured him about how a “diverse America” is “alarmed and anxious” about the incoming Trump administration.
“We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” Dixon said as Pence exited the building.
The fallout and backlash have been swift.

From what I've heard, it's an overrated pseudo-history that tries to put Aaron Burr on the same moral level as Hamilton.
All of us who are students of history know that Hamilton had his flaws. But the traditional view of Burr, as a very dark character, has held up over generations of historical research.
And hip-hop, meh.

The Hamilton cast has proven themselves to be not worthy of saving.
Well as the anti-Trumper crowd points out, Hamilton is sold out for months in advance so a boycott isn’t realistic.
Of course the cast has the right to do what they did. They are shortsighted, immature and disrespectful.
Actors....not part of reality.
If this happened to obama then they would be called racist. If this happened to Clinton they would be called sexist.
This happened to Trump so the media calls them great people with free speech.

And the rest of us have a right to our opinions of what they did.
I get the impression, that the liberal media will focus on their “rights” of expression, speaking “truth to power” and all that, but ignore the part of how we all have the right to our opinion that these people are (fill in the blank) for their perverse actions to our VP elect.
I didn’t need to see Pence or Bibi disrespected to know that I would never darken the doorway of a revisionist “musical” about a Founding Father set to hip hop.
Rather ram chainsaws into my ears.
Booing the cast and drawing attention to their actions everywhere possible would have more impact.
I can’t boycott the show because I would never set foot in NYC.
From what I saw, the creator and producer were the ones who wrote and gave this performer his “speech” to read.
What? Do they think the play “Hamilton” is too big to fail?
Are they saying Broadway plays are for liberals only — all others to be harassed?
Hmmm. I wonder how this is going to portend for Broadway.
I can see in the future people saying, “That’s the torn-down Broadway district. People used to go there for entertainment. Nobody goes there any more except to get harassed. That’s why the streets are empty. Too bad, N-O-T.
i hope Me Pence learned a lesson to never EVER play nice with the RATS ever again
