President Vladimir Putin’s London ambassador says Russia has been trying to persuade US president Barack Obama to agree to the air strikes......
And Alexander Yakovenko says they will now talk to Trump when he takes office as Obama’s successor in January hoping for a more sympathatic hearing.

Syria is a Russian satellite. Let them deal with Saudi proxies. We can sit it out.
What, and get part of the blame when some phony “hospital” gets hit?
Except we created the whole rebel movement. We started funding it way before the fighting with USAID money. It is literally a creation of our neocons (dem and gop) That’s why we have a responsibility to wipe out the rebels, apologize to Syria and leave.
We should bomb the snot out of anything not Syrian government. The problem will be out senior military leaders who would undermine that.
They are heavily invested in the “moderate rebel” fantasy and their laser focused goal is removing Assad, and installing a sunni government.

Absolutely correct, and it’s my fervent hope that Trump will join forces with Putin and exterminate those cockroaches, and all of the ISIS and other jihadist vermin they can target. Wipe out every one of the bastards.
Those senior military officers will either change their tune before the inauguration or quickly be made irrelevant.
The Saudis and Qataris ginned up this whole mess so they could run their gas pipeline to Europe. They were playing us for suckers. This is really a beef between Russia and the Saudis. Let them deal with it.
We can gladly point out juicy targets from out spy satellites, but yeah, these are Russia’s friends, and they can expend the hardware.

And this blame we should be concerned about would be coming from what source?
If we just left it to the Syrians; let them fight it out and then we deal with the winners, that is an alternative to taking sides.
I agree that Putin does not need our “help” save for the cutoff of American financed and built weapons. We stop arming those maniacs and in pretty short order they will be fighting a modern military with knives and clubs.
The best help we could give Putin is to just pull out of the Syrian mess altogether, and above all, cease funding any of the fighting forces, regardless of whose side they claim to be on today.
Just let all the muzzies kill each other, and let the Ruskies mop up the survivors.
We’ve done this a couple times already...in Afghanistan...but turns out it was an alqueda base. Imagine that.
Saudi Arabia...I'm talking about you!
“The Saudis and Qataris ginned up this whole mess so they could run their gas pipeline to Europe.”
Not completely. The Syrian war is better seen as a continuation of the Arab spring movement that his Egypt and Libya. It was created by us way back.
Wikileaks exposed that in 2006 under Bush, we were looking for opportunities to start a regime change movement. There is much detail. When the black Bush came into power in 2008, he continued the policy and kicked it into high gear.
You can make book on the Clintons getting money from the pipeline. There is nothing, including sick, starving, and dying people they do not get money from. A good example is the money that was to go to the sick, starving, and dying people of Haiti that they took [kept].
Kadafi......what was the monetary gain on that? Rumor was he had gold.
