Actually listening to the whole half-hour video...this whole article is somewhat misdirected.
There are certain items about Spencer’s speech that are objectionable, but the ‘dog whistle’ moments (to borrow an MSM phase) again is an example of tweaking the media on the nose, in the manner of Internet trolls.
For example: why use the term ‘Lugenpresse’ for the mainstream media? Because they know it will get a rise out of them, and that hysterical overreaction is *funny*.
It is a long speech on the hypocrisy of the media, and how the elites of today elevate anything that is degenerate. You might harp on the man’s emphasis on the effect of our popular culture on white communities in particular, but it is simply using the MSM’s own game against them, and calling out their hypocrisy even further; ‘identity politics is okay for thee and not for me’.
Even if you don’t agree with some of his more inflammatory rhetoric (and I disagree with his particular viewpoints on certain items, like his opinion about how the Iran deal actually wasn’t that bad), it is a fascinating speech on its own (and calls out the hypocrisy of the left and its media allies), and well worth the half-hour of your time.
And the sad thing, about his more far-right rhetoric: it is a complete creation of the media and their absolute unwillingness to budge even one iota on their worldview, doubling down on the “white people are evil/stupid/hateful and just need to die” rhetoric.
Substitue all uses of ‘whiteness’ for any other race in this speech, and would there be a similar outcry?

Following the link that you posted, I heard the whole speech. There was no “railing” against the Jews, and only a very little bit at the end that could be construed as racist. “We don’t need moral validation from some of the most despicable creatures ever to populate the planet,” and the term “Hail!” which can be regarded as suspect in that context. He’s amazingly eloquent and well spoken. Didn’t show the audience, so impossible to say if anyone was giving the fascist salute. He made one gesture at the end of the speech which might have been the fascist salute disguised, but it could have been waving to his mom, too. Significant, though. He refers to his ideology as “alt right,” so I guess it no longer can be said to be a leftist term.
