Interesting. If I’m reading this right, these morons are blaming all of California’s problems on the rest of the US. They’re saying that California’s economy props up the other states and as a result, they’re own state has suffered. So if they leave the US, California will then magically transform into a utopia. My question is this and I could be wrong, but isn’t there a part of the California state constitution that prevents them from leaving the union? Wouldn’t that have to be overturned before they can even vote to leave?

If they take 100% of the illegals who have come to the United States in the last 30 years - they can leave with my blessing...

Oh, and any liberals who want to live in 'liberal land'.

Open up the gates, then together we can build a Wall so none of them can ever come back to our side. It would be such a blessing to be rid of California, Hollywood, gangbangers, and liberal elites in flyover... Go for it. Just think of the joy of not having to carry the massive debt of that State... maybe they can take Illinois with them...

So many questions so little time.....

What about citizenship status? Are we now citizens of California not American citizens? What if we want to retain our American citizenship? Would we be aliens in a California republic?

What California values conflict with American values, to the point that these people want to secede?

What about California’s share of the national debt? Does that get paid off somehow; would the legislature in Sacramento raise taxes to pay it off?

What about military bases in California?

This is THE start of Balkanization of the USA.

It started long ago. And not withstanding the islands of conservatism in the state, California is defacto part of Mexico at this point.

Let them go BUT keep the portions that are patriotic. That would include the “Inland Empire”, San Diego & environs, and probably every area except the coastal population centers. We should probably make sure we keep Rio Linda to keep Rush Limbaugh happy. Water currently moved to the coasts will be redirected to area staying in the country (agriculture will bloom). All illegal aliens will be removed to the seceding areas.

Yes California! I’m all for this. The USA can get along just fine without California. We can replace it as a state with Puerto Rico, and not even change the flag. We can offer immigration packages to people with skills, who actually want to work, and to retirees who are willing to sign a statement that they will not teach socialism or other features of California’s government. And any Californian immigrants who want to vote have to do state or Federal service. Yep, this will be fine. Just let CA go without any complaints.

These morons have absolutely no idea what they’re in for. Lets take their share of the $20T is US DEBT, That they essentially voted for.

It will get progressively (nice word, eh?) worse from there.

... California’s infrastructure is falling apart, our public schools are ranked among the worst in the entire country, we have the highest number of homeless persons living without shelter and other basic necessities, poverty rates remain high, income inequality continues to expand, and we must often borrow money from the future to provide services for today....

And it was all done by DEMOCRATS..................

Unilateral secession is still illegal. This may be symbolic but it’s also doomed to failure. Poor stupid dhimmis.

California is broke—an ideal candidate to become an independent nation!

They can print their own currency and it will be as good as gold—oops.

“I wonder if this means liberals from other states will flock to CA like lemmings toward a cliff?”

They already did starting in the 1950’s. That’s what’s wrong with California today.
