I’m OK with Mitt Romney as Secretary of State.

I was really mad at Mitt when he was making that speech, i was driving and listening to it live. I wanted to punch him in the face or worse. And I still loathe him. If Trump selects him for Secretary of State I will feel a little betrayed, that at least some of his campaign rhetoric may have been just for show. Don’t do it! Mitt is a snake and a loser.

Why not John Kerry? He’s no worse than Romney on foreign policy.

Is Mitt Romney the “We’re all going to die because of Climate Change” type of person?

You have got to be kidding. You believe that Kerry, who thinks Global Warming is the most severe problem we face, is no worse than Romney?

Kerry is an anti-American radical leftist and has been so since the time of the Vietnam war. Romney has been a craven opportunist. I see a huge difference between the two.

I want Bolton, too. I saw him on Lou Dobbs last night and he clearly hopes to be named to a post.

Haley and Romney the anti-Trumpers. Mattis would need a waiver from Congress to be eligible for SecDef. Paint me skeptical on all three suggestions.

You're probably right. However, if true, Mattis is the only decent pick of the three. Having Haley's politically correct multiculturalism or Romney's Rockefeller Republicanism in the State Department would be no better than keeping Kerry.

I think they mean that Romney will be hired as a secretary at State.

There’s a chance this is strategic to appeal to the Mormons who went for McMullin. He doesn’t want a primary challenge in 2020 because whenever a sitting President has a primary challenge it tends to bloody them up and make them lose the general election.

Romney may be a RINO but I don’t think he’s faced any accusations of corruption. The swamp is about corruption.

President pro tempore of the US Senate is above Sec of State in line of succession. That’s Orrin Hatch. So you’d have a Ryan/Hatch ticket take power.

I know what you mean; however, when I think of a swamp I also think of a detestable situation or an environment filled with unpleasantries. He fits the category.

Mitt Romney is a lying sack of crap.

He had no problem praising Trump when needing his endorsement.

Was he lying in 2012, or was he lying in 2016?

OK, I’ll bite, who is the favored candidate for Secretary of State in FR?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, there’s Hillary Clinton, she does have experience and I put her and Romney on the same back stabbing level.
Doesn’t bother me in the least, unless Mr. Romney intends to house a server in his basement.
Otherwise, he’ll do the bidding of President Trump or he’ll be fired. Mr. Romney is certainly a smooth operator. I voted for him to be president in 2012, so I live with him as the nation’s top diplomat.
Bottom line: Mitt Romney will represent the Trump administration at the pleasure of Donald Trump.
