There are more than enough able bodied workers on the welfare roles to do the work - if they were willing. The question is: how to motivate them to do the work?
Yep, you see the rioters in places like Ferguson and Baltimore, and you think, do these people have jobs? They are not disabled, they could be doing some sort of productive job in our economy.
Do we have job training programs for roofers or other building trades? I really don’t know how any of that recruitment works. But seems to me, with some basic training, lots of idle people could be doing productive work and earn some good money. What is the missing link? Lack of a work ethic in ghetto culture? Inability to follow directions? Lack of soft skills such as knowing you need to show up for work on time? Illiteracy?
Pretty much all the above. There is no work ethic in the ghetto culture. They maintain this notion that they should be paid top dollar from the get-go on the first day on the job - none of this "work your way up" nonsense. And showing up for work on time? That's being "white". Finally, what's the need to follow directions from some uppity cracka shouting orders?
