Pelosi Challenger: Dems Failed Because We Didn't Focus on Economy
Fox News Sunday ^ | Nov 27, 2016 | Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace

Posted on 11/28/2016 3:45:03 PM PST by Son House

Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan told Chris Wallace that the Democratic caucus' failure in this past election is due to the fact that their legislators have not concentrated enough on economic issues.

Ryan, 43, who is challenging Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for her House Minority Leader position, said "a robust economic message that covers everybody" is the best prescription for Democrats' success in the future.

Never mind cutting taxes.

JFK ran on it in 1960 and to no one’s surprise - won.

Today Democrats think we’re insufficiently taxed and scheme to come up with more of them.

They think our anemic growth needs to be turned into negative economic growth.

What a winning message.

The guy comes off as reasonable.

Let’s hope Pelosi stays in power!

That’s exactly why changing the chairs on the deck of the Democratic Titanic won’t save the party.

Until it stops inflicting its nutty ideas upon America.

No, they lost because obama DID focus on economic issues; Marxists ALWAYS f*** up the economy and Americans are sick of it.

Tim Ryan was pro-life for the first fifteen years of his career. For ten of those fifteen years, he was sincerely pro-life: active in Democrats for Life, etc. Over the last five years, he became quiet, then started waffling. Finally last year, he announced had listened to enough women's stories to know that being pro-choice was the right way to go, and blamed his ever having been pro-life on being Catholic. What really happened, of course, is that he realized he had risen as far as he could as a pro-life Democrat. So, he sold-out the unborn for the sake of his political ambition. Of course, it probably won't matter anyway, since a white guy probably can't win with the Dems any more.

It was your candidate, stupid. For swing voters it came down to the lesser of two evils. Clearly Clinton was more evil.

Dems never win on the economy.

They win on lies and fraud since going back to slavery.
Repubs bad, therefore Dems good.

The democrats focused on the things their leaders care about: allowing men in women’s dressing rooms and restrooms, the gender spectrum at very young ages, #BlackThugsMatter, global warming over jobs, and the fact that the government should run the smallest minutia in our lives. I can’t imagine what went wrong.

Tim Ryan had the most ASSININE "reasons" for switching to pro-choice.

He talked with his wife, and he had a child.

Yup, having a CHILD made him pro-choice.

That *totally* makes sense. This guy is some sort of freak of nature.

Tim Ryan's not a freak; he's just a plain old liar. He didn't really switch sides because he talked to his wife and had a child; he originally was pro-life because he knew abortion murdered an unborn child. He still knows that to be the case, but he wants to move up the Democrat ladder, so he is switching sides on the abortion issue. However, he can't admit that that's the reason he's changing his position on abortion, so he came out with this gobbledygook.

Good point, where were the clear thinking Democrats all along? Lock-step with Pelosi. This is one election I can't choose a winner because I'd like to see them stuck with Pelosi and Ryan is probably the best choice for the lucid Democrat.

“You failed because your candidate was a bitter product.”

There’s much truth to this. Dems have backed themselves into a corner. They MUST have huge minority and “oppressed” group turnout and they MUST suppress Reagan Democrat turnout. Both of those must happen and they win. That was the formula in 2012.

But minority and oppressed turnout requires ever increasing identity politics to keep them angry. It requires inciting riots in Baltimore, BLM etc. It requires snowflake safe space riots. It requires ever more hysterical attacks on bad bad white people with trucks. The war on women has to become the nuclear war on women. New oppressed groups have to be brought to the fore and convinced of their hideous victimization—2016 was the year of the tranny. And even that didn’t work this year because riots, ridiculous college nonsense, tranny visits to girls bathrooms and the like just piss off regular Americans and especially Reagan Democrats.

So their hysteria has diminishing returns both ways—the minorities, oppressed, and snowflakes really don’t vote that much even when the dems yell even louder and the Reagan Democrats do when they get annoyed enough. That’s why Trump won the Great Lakes states and the election.

If the dems had run Biden, they would have won. He would have split Reagan Dems with Trump.

Instead of moving to candidates who can actually talk to working class Americans like Biden, the dems are moving to Keith Ellison and Elizabeth Warren. They are so not happening in the Midwest.
