Members from the state's Green Party are hosting viewing parties on how to train people interested in observing the presidential recount Thursday.
People from different political backgrounds gathered in Muskego on Tuesday night to train for the historic recount process.
"I'm interested in how the whole election process works and how it doesn't work," said Jim Shepard, of Woodstock, Illinois.
The effort is being funded and led by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, who addressed the crowd remotely through Skype.
"We're going to start by recounting the votes in Wisconsin," Stein said.
People in attendance were given guidance by members of the state's Green Party as well as lawyers on how they can properly observe the recount in their county.
The guidelines discussed Tuesday are similar to tips given to observers during the recount of the state's Supreme Court race in 2011.
"It's about learning the process of what to look for, discrepancies-wise, if there is a discrepancy on a ballot," said Tyrone Payton, a national delegate of the Green Party from Wisconsin.
Payton said people are allowed to watch, take notes and even video record the recount process.
Many who came to the meeting are not members of the Green Party and don't even expect a change in the outcome; they just find the process interesting.
"I don't frankly expect there to be a change or anything, but I still think it's an opportunity," said Renee Dudley, of Milwaukee.
If anyone does see problems in the recount process, they are allowed to step in and say something to an official.
Every county will have a secure place where they will do the recount.

This looks like the challenges and counter challenges could go years.
$3.5 million is a lot of money to spend for a a fruitless effort.

Spurred by passage of Gov. Walkers reforms, WI progressive’s last resort was reversal by the WI Supreme Court.
Conservative justice David Prosser who was up for re-election narrowly defeated Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in April 2011, and Kloppenburg called for the first statewide recount since 1858.
No procedures existed and they all had to be developed in the course of that recount. This extended the time required significantly but it also means that modern, tested, and even since refined procedures are now in place.
Prosser is a Republican, so a large number of Republicans have already been trained and have experience in recounts.
Obviously the Green Party was not involved in 2011 so they are now having to train up a group of volunteers since they are the principles in this process.
In other words a big nothingburger.
Except that this entire thing is “punishment by process”, and will not lead to any substantive change in the vote total and certainly not in the Trump victory.
We need to be very, very concerned about this.
Dems are vote fraud artists, and they will do everything they can to cheat.
