Ukraine began two days of missile tests near Crimea on Thursday - a move that has angered Russia.

Volodymyr Kryzhanovsky, a Ukrainian military official, said the exercises, which are taking place in Ukraine's southern Kherson region bordering Crimea, had begun and that everything was going smoothly.

The exercises, which will run from Dec. 1-2, were taking place at least 30 kilometres (18.64 miles) from Crimean air space, he said.

Moscow has responded by putting its land-based and ship-borne air defence forces in Crimea on higher alert.

Warships from Russia's Black Sea Fleet took up position off Crimea's western coastline on Thursday, a Crimean military source told the RIA news agency.

WOW do the uber wealthy in Ukraine and the rest of the west want a war!!

Putin isn’t an idiot. I didn’t say he’s a good man, just that he’s not an idiot.

He’s not going to start WWIII or be provoked into all out conflict with the west 50 days before the ubers will no longer matter, or at least not nearly as much.

Like I said, VERY few western troops on the ground in eastern europe, from the west.

That’s propaganda. Not till spring for England.

Probably just a coincidence that Putin is giving a state of the union type speech at the same time. Keep poking that bear.

The “Vzglyad” Russian newspaper has reported that:

1) Ukraine may use a locally upgraded version of the Soviet-made C-300 (NATO: SA-10 Grumble) as well as Buk-M1 (NATO: Ganges) SAM rocket batteries.

2) Russia had deployed in Crimea C-300VM Anteys (NATO:SA-23 “Gladiator”).

If he is not an idiot then he will give up on his expansionist plans. Stick with Russia and stop bothering other countries...it’s not as if Ukraine will try to take over.

I’m no genius so I don’t know how strong the argument is that we wouldn’t want Russian troops in Mexico. I want to see I don’t know if that’s a good analogy or not. The part of Ukraine he’s taking is incredibly minute and I thought it was just to have access to the Black Sea and a lot of the people were already pro-russian in that area. I’m not sure of any of this. If you would clarify that would be great. as far as Syria, my geography sucks and I wonder where it stands in relation to Russia. Are they fighting there because they are afraid of Isis at the door? I know putin is a KGB assassin, but I’d like to avoid World War 3! But i know weakness causes Wars it doesn’t prevent them
