Agreed ... the way I see it is that, as long as they’re not GIVING it to them, but rather are SELLING it to them, it’s just business as usual.
Are they supposed to ask every customer; are you a protestor?
Who cares what they sell to them.
Therefore, I would support ACE refusal to sell to unvetted strangers and unknown types while continuing to serve known regular customers of these items.
Multiple IED's have already been used by the anarchist - terrorist component of the "demonstrators" resulting in at least one serious case of mayhem injury.
No need to ask. You can tell a liberal protestor a mile away.
Are we talking cans of spray paint or what ?
OMG. Ace Hardware is conducting commerce with democrats. The horror! Boycott! Your life depends on it! Cats and Dogs living together, mass hysteria!
Apparently the protesters tried to start a rumor on social media that Ace was refusing to sell to them. Probably because they wouldn’t give the protesters what they wanted. Ace is just denying that rumor.
I’ll send ‘em supplies; I’ll call Waste Management.
The only problem with that protest is the federal govt, which should send the National Guard to remove those idiots and keep a contingent there to keep them off that land.
I’m not going to punish my local Ace store which is hundreds of miles away and has nothing to do with the situation. My store does a good job serving my community and is a good neighbor providing decent jobs.
So ACE is still going to sell them pipes and nails for their pipe bombs?
“Why protest something that once completed is invisible an has a proven OUTSTANDING safety record?”
To protest, to cause chaos, IS their goal. They really don’t care what the “reason” for the protest is, that is just for the useful idiots.
I support people’s rights even if I don’t agree with them. It is important to our society and country. These idiots deserve the right to protest as much as anyone else. So many protesters on the right supporting truly noble and sacred causes have been persecuted in the past. We should not just defend the protesters that we like and agree with.
and if they want to spend money in my store, I’m taking it.
“An employee who answered the phone at the Ace Hardware in nearby Bismarck said Thursday that the store had not received anything from corporate headquarters suggesting a ban on selling to demonstrators. The employee, who declined to give a name, said protesters had been in buying supplies all day.”
Yes, any order to require that Ace stop selling stuff that is lawful to purchase needs to come from local law enforcement if they feel that what is being purchased may be utilized in an unlawful manner. Then Ace would be obligated to stop selling.
