My wife is from Taiwan so I have been there several times. Beautiful country and beautiful people. They love Americans and it’s a wonderful place to be a tourist. People go out of their way to help you. There is no welfare there but they help everyone. Parents are taken care of by the children. Blind people are taught trades like massage for example. Nobody litters. The trains are on time to the minute. The subway system in Taipei was finished in 3 yrs on a 4 yr timetable and under budget! Every kid wants to study hard and get their PhD. They respect elders and open doors for them. I don’t speak chinese yet have no trouble running around the countryside by myself as there is always someone offering help. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to our cities here.
