Much to my surprise, I showed up in the WikiLeaks releases before the election. In a 2014 email, a staffer at the Center for American Progress, founded by John Podesta in 2003, took credit for a campaign to have me eliminated as a writer for Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight website. In the email, the editor of the think tank’s climate blog bragged to one of its billionaire donors, Tom Steyer: “I think it’s fair [to] say that, without Climate Progress, Pielke would still be writing on climate change for 538.”

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.
"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 - you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. Transform it from what, to what?
Well, as I read that quote, she is talking about undoing the Industrial Revolution.
Of course, somehow, while the rest of us are living in the squalor of a pre-industrial economy, somehow our global elite rulers will manage to live in the lap of luxury. (Although how they'll be able to sustain that standard of living once they've destroyed the global economy remains a mystery.)
Bkmrk.
Oh, ok, thanks. The old “Hunger Games” scenario where the people live in squalor and the elites occupy the Capitol and live like royalty. It never works out for them in the movies. I wonder if it will in real life?

The direct WSJ link is pay-walled or something.
It is pretty windy here these last few days.
I wish someone would stop global windiness.
Very good article describing the censorship, media bias, academic bias, and big-money environmentalists that are involved in the “global warming denier” accusations. The Libs love to smear their opponents and discredit them, just like Obama and the rest of the Left smear Fox News and talk radio. And they are often effective. Many students and Lib adults simply will not even consider any news stories coming from conservative sources. They have been totally brainwashed in their groupthink environment.
