She’s setting up for next election. Hopefully German people are smarter than to elect her again.
Unless her party gets rid of her the likely alternative will be a full blown Socialist. Think along the lines of a Francois Hollande type but twice as arrogant. And yes, Germans in particular as well as Europeans in general are just stupid enough to elect one. But whatever happens I think Frau Merkel’s day is done.
