TV Host with Breast Cancer Forced to Remove Wig as Part of ‘Horrific’ TSA Body Search

Denise Albert, the co-founder of The MOMS, is speaking out after what she calls an “horrific” pat down from Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at the Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday — all over medication related to her breast cancer treatment.

Albert, who is a frequent guest on PIX11 Morning News, told the outlet that she was traveling through security when she was pulled aside by agents for a manual search. The cause for further search was a medical cream she had packed in her carry on luggage, Albert told PIX11.

Albert wrote on The MOMS website that the medical cream is not usually an issue and she’s been granted approval to carry it on other flights. She also noted that she made the agents aware of the medication and her medical port before the patdown.

“I don’t know what was different this time but TSA agents aggressively attempted to do a body cavity search in public,” said Albert in the post. “I was TSA precheck and once through the scanner they asked me to take off my shoes. I explained I didn’t have socks on and that my cream is for an infection from my current treatment, including on my feet.”

According to Albert, the TSA agents told her they needed to perform a full body pat down, using “as much pressure” as necessary.

She was forced to remove her wig, and remained barefoot for at least 20 minutes during the ordeal.

“I told them my feet were freezing,” Albert wrote online. “Also a side effect from chemo. They refused to help me. The woman reached behind me and forceable[sic] and aggressively put her hands down my jeans in the back.”

Well, according to the national security, anyone can be a terrorist, even the nutty idea of placing a bomb inside your body for a messy death.

Help us all out here, President Trump. Make this agency search potential terrorists.

Speaking of Israeli security my wife and I traveled to that wonderful country two years ago. We visited a winery and received a pair of very lovely complementary corkscrews. I threw them into my backpack and promptly forgot they were there, so didn’t put them into my checked bag when we left. Ben Gurion security waved me through, corkscrews and all. But we had to change planes at JFK and TSA there confiscated the corkscrews.Ben Gurion airport, the most security conscious airport on the planet knew I was no threat but the mindless, rulebound drones of the TSA thought otherwise.

I have MS and have an implanted Baclofen pump (about the size of a hockey puck.) They could very well interpret it to be something else.

TSA searches depend on who happens to be doing the searching.
I tell them first I have a pump, show them approximately where it’s implanted so if/when they see it on the scanner they’ll know it’s not a bomb...and I give them
an ID card that says I have the pump.

I’ve had them wipe my hands for residue and wipe down my entire wheelchair. Other times they really wanted me to go through the whole body scanner, and I can stand, so I obliged, then they wanted me to put my hands above my head, and that wasn’t happening, so they let me go anyway.

Another time they didn’t care about me, or the pump...they were obsessed with the wheelchair and practically took the whole thing apart.

It’s like each TSA unit operates any way they want, and what’s important to one, isn’t to the other, and vice versa.

But there are plenty of folks going through airports with implanted devices, pacemakers, pumps, etc. so I understand a certain level of concern.

Whatever happened to the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which prohibits "unreasonable searches and seizures"?

Evidently each TSA employee is allowed to utilize his or her own interpretation of what is "reasonable" or "unreasonable".

Mr. Trump's savvy appointment today of General Kelly to head this misguided agency (which is also a national massive holding-tank for low-IQ Democrat patronage employees) bodes well for the future.

It's terrible that the cancer-stricken TV host lady had to go through this sadistic and demeaning body search by the TSA animals. I stand with her in spirit...and in outrage.

The victim is a contributor to the Huffington Post, so my sympathy is limited. She appears to be the type who likes more government. She got more government.

Same thing happened with my daughter and her chemo beenie. And it wasn’t enough to make her take it off, they called all kinds of attention to it so that they made sure everyone in line was watching her and her bald head.

About five year ago, I went to the airport to pick up a relative. While waiting there, I watched passengers go through the security process prior to boarding. In line was a young Anglo woman with an infant baby in her arms with a bouncing two year old girl in tow. Behind them was an Arab male, about twenty-five years old. The security officer pulled the young woman and her children over to the side to do a more intense scan. The Arab male was allowed to walk on by without the more intense scan.
