The fluff of JFK is exactly what the image used for him is all about: the mythical Camelot that never existed.

The truth is JFK was bad news. His “ask what you can do for you country” that people swoon over is a “feel-good” socialist saying. Well socialism in America is unconstitutional and, therefore, tyranny and “feel good” socialism is still tyranny.

Gawd, I genuinely can't believe that FReepers -- people who are supposed to know history -- fall for this stupid sh!t.

JFK was an absolutely terrible President who accomplished basically nothing; all hat and no cattle. He got us into a land war in Asia despite Eisenhower's explicit warning not to do that, and left hundreds of Cuban freedom fighters to die on the beach in Cuba after training them and promising them he'd come to their aid.

He created the missile crisis by putting nuclear missiles in Turkey and then backed down when the Russians responded to his needless provocation.

He shamelessly disgraced his wife and pimped out his sex toys to other powerful men.

Camelot was a dry run of the Clinton and 0bama Presidencies. All style, no substance, and lots of abuse of executive power.

Oh yeah ... and he cheated his way into the Presidency.

JFK? Really?

No thanks.
