Trump’s Approach: A Fresh Start Or Crazy Reckless?
New York Times ^ | 12/14/2016 | Thomas L. Friedman

Posted on 12/14/2016 4:09:58 AM PST by goldstategop

But my fellow Americans, whatever mix of motives led us to create an Electoral College majority for Donald Trump to become President — and overlook his lack of preparation, his record of indecent personal behavior, his madcap midnight tweeting, his casual lying about issues like “millions” of people casting illegal votes in this election, the purveying of fake news by his national security adviser, his readiness to appoint climate change deniers without even getting a single briefing from the world’s greatest climate scientists in the government he’ll soon lead and his cavalier dismissal of the C.I.A.’s conclusions about Russian hacking of our election — have no doubt about one thing: We as a country have just done something incredibly reckless.

There is actually something “prehistoric” about the cabinet Trump is putting together. It is totally dominated by people who have spent their adult lives drilling for, or advocating for, fossil fuels — oil, gas and coal.

The New York Times didn't endorse or vote for Trump - he owes them nothing. I find it touching the leading purveyor of fake news is upset Trump doesn't take its fake news seriously - like its championing the climate change hoax or its peddling a Russian conspiracy theory about Russia's alleged intervention to elect Trump President. And its actually a bad thing Trump wants to make America energy independent?

A lot of good reasons as to why the New York Times and Tom Friedman are "prehistoric" in Trump's America.

As opposed to the Ivory Tower and Think Tank set made up of aging hippies who never actually did or accomplished anything, that the NYT would prefer.

The preening, narcissistic martini-class Northeastern liberals are pissed that no one gives a rat’s ass about what they think or say.

No Thomas what is “prehistoric” is your clinging to failed poltical and economic dogmas from the 1930s that have been weight, that have been measured and have been found wanting.

There is nothing at all modern about the Leftist command driven economic and poltical theories you at the NY Times propagandize for daily.

The popular vote is a beauty contest.

Its irrelevant in how we elect Presidents.

Tom Friedman of all people, should know that fact.

Trump lost ONE state, California, which allows illegal aliens to vote, by 4.7 million votes. He won America by 2 million. So you don’t know what you are talking about, Friedman, and never did.

The notion that Hillary won the popular vote simply shows that she was a lousy campaigner!

To win the campaign, you don’t seek popular votes. You focus on key states with electoral votes that you need. States like PA, MI, WI. Hillary apparently didn’t understand that concept. She ran a lousy campaign that lacked the focus she needed.

Sure, she got a lot of votes in California, but that wasn’t the mission. She ran a lousy campaign and completely failed to accomplish what she needed to do.

Not nearly as reckless as the syncophant media has been trying to incite racial tensions, class warfare, colluding with Hillary, and casting doubt on the entire election since their co-conspirator didn't win.

MAGA takes energy. Lots of cheap, portable, and REAL energy. If the Trump administration makes it clear that the big government grants are going to scientists who are disproving anthropogenic climate change, then most of that alleged “consensus” will switch sides real fast. If the government money starts flowing to clean coal, then those scientists will become advocates of coal.

Modern grant-chasing academic science is not much different than prostitution except that the person who pays the bills rarely feels satisfied after they get screwed.

This is the same Thomas Friedman who thinks one-party rule, such as they have in China, is enlightened and efficient.

“But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages. That one party can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century.”

Friedman worships dictatorships, as long as they’re to his ilk.

Trump needs to hear their briefing, then fire all of them.

There is historical precedent. Why as recently as 2008, we elected a man of dubious personal character and minimal accomplishment and overlooked his missing birth certificate, his missing college records, his Muslim upbringing in Indonesia, his lies about his lifelong association with a black supremacist pastor, his lies about his book being ghost-written by a domestic terrorist, his intent to transform the US military into an experiment in social progressivism, his lie about health care reform that if "you like your plan, you can keep your plan", his politicization of the global warming hoax, with the intent to turn little school children across America into misinformed religious fanatics, his encouragement and tacit support of black cop killers, his ties to subversive Muslim organizations, and his intent to fill senior positions in his Administration with affirmative action hires who otherwise couldn't hold a steady job at the local McDonald's - just to name a few.

The New York Times - like much of the MSM - is spending a lot of time these days screaming at an America it thinks is too dumb to understand the Times' progressive version of reality. But their time is at an end. Utopia has been canceled. And every column like this is just another shovelful of dirt dug out of their own grave.

Trump has made a lifetime of success, seeing the potential.

He looked at what D.C. politics was doing to destroy our nation and said - "I can fix that!"

Look at our inner cities and you see blight. Trump looked at the Presidential race and saw blight in politics.

Cleaning up our inner cities is draining the swamp of blight.

Righting the many wrongs inflicted on Americans by the elites in DC is draining the swamp in DC.
