Why the Media Can’t Tell the Truth about Trump
American Thinker ^ | December 15, 2016 | Jack Hellner

As far I can tell the world is in a much worse place after eight years of President Obama. China, Russia, Iran and Cuba are stronger. The Middle East is in shambles. Terrorism deaths are higher and the world has a massive refuge crisis. I can think of nowhere that the U.S. is better off today after eight years of Obama, Hillary and Kerry. Isn't it time to give new ideas and a man accomplished throughout the world a chance?

Not for the legacy media and its Democrat clients.

I remember when George W. Bush was in office and the Congo and Darfur were of extreme importance to Hollywood and the media. As soon as Obama took office these people and countries were no longer important. Isn't that telling?

The media and Democrats will be opposed to almost anyone Trump picks for any office or any action he announces. They will twist 180 degrees in order to attack him. Senator Obama, Hillary Clinton, almost all Democrats and the media all called the CIA and other intelligence agencies liars on WMD's in Iraq. President Obama continues to say that the CIA gave him faulty intelligence on ISIS. But if President-elect Trump questions the CIA on reports of Russia interfering in the election and the media, Democrats and some Republicans are up in arms. They vilify anyone questioning the Intelligence agencies and treat this as if this would be the first time it the CIA getting something wrong ever happened.

Its not just Trump.

You load a profession with degenerates and pathological liars, you get professional liars and degenerates.

There’s your “journalism”.

They can’t tell the truth, because most of them are born liars, or totally brainwashed by the leftist indoctrination centers called public schools and universities.

Why the Media Can’t Tell the Truth about Trump

It would conflict with the OTHER truth they've told about him?

“The media and Democrats will be opposed to almost anyone Trump picks for any office or any action he announces.”

Of course. If Obama was now still doing community organizing, or was still at the U of Chicago and Trump picked him, they wouldn't like Obama. It's not the message, it's the messenger. Any messenger who doesn't have (D) after their name is unacceptable to them.

The media is the advertising arm of the DNC. They would not or could not tell US the truth about Hillry.. The media of mass deception has been liars and corrupt all my living memory. Those pillars of a civil society, politics, education, economy and religion have been corrupted.

You're absolutely correct, and it's not just them (the Democrats), it's also those pulling strings from behind (e.g. Soros and many others who have been involved in an ongoing designed transformation of the US over decades. It was working as designed and anticipated by them, and then this election, and this outsider named Trump changed the rules of the game - and they recognize the enormous impact.

Everything they've worked to put into place - control of the media, control of academia, control of pop culture via the entertainment industry, political ‘plants’ in the Republican party to undermine the cohesion and ability of their adversaries to fight back, all of it has been circumvented, and it's like the nation has had a global hypnotic spell broken. Trump not only won this election, just as importantly he has shown how to go around or right through all of the methods of ‘control’ that the left have worked many decades to put in place.

Yes. I had a few at one time. There’s been so much manipulation of monetary policy over the years that it’s hard to keep track.

He certainly has. Of course we have only won a single victory and there is still a long war ahead but the libtards have really suffered a pretty massive blow. We have to really be ruthless now and really crush them badly and quickly. While this may be yet a “Cold Civil War” it is still a war and following Sherman’s advice, the most merciful way to conduct warfare is rapid, overwhelming victory. There can be no hand wringing or self doubt. One goal, one mind. Rapid overwhelming victory.

They have been deprived all the levers of power and their Propaganda Arm was completely destroyed in their last desperate attempt. What remains of it now needs to be completely wiped from the face of the earth. If Trump wants to destroy Bezos and Carlos Slim while he has one arm around their shoulder, I got no problem with that. Beats taking them to the basement for a round in the back of the head. Carrot or stick but one way or another the whole bunch of libtard Rats needs to be eliminated.

The media on tv are part of a 75 billion dollar a year revenue stream generated by advertising spending.

Television provides its audience a lifestyle which is pro-gay, pro-immigrant, pro-minority and pro-liberal. These type of shows entirely dominate their scheduling because this is the audience most susceptible to commercials.

The media and TV News Depts. also promote this lifestyle because this is the business model which works best for their 75 billion dollar a year business...

Conservatives are too intelligent to be as susceptible to television advertising as liberals...

Trump didn’t spend advertising dollars. Guaranteed that affected and affects the coverage he gets from media companies. Trump broke the rules. Media companies will try to Watergate Trump. Sooner not later.

My Dad fought WWII in the Navy. On destroyers in the North Atlantic and the Med, sunk twice. The last half of the war on Guam.

Came home, married my Mom and got a degree in Journalism on the GI Bill from the University of Wisconsin. I once asked him why Journalism. He told me he considered it the “most noble of professions”.

That was before he met Dan Rather in Viet Nam, who told him that as long as he was bureau chief, Americans would only see the war the way he wanted them to see it...body counts...American leaders screwing up and getting their units blown away...photos of bodies hanging on wire and American units committing atrocities, etc.

He told me that Viet Nam was over-covered and reporters were starving, looking for that big story that made their career. The female reporters were in a better position in that they could fall back on the “oldest profession” to survive.

If he were alive today, he would be broken-hearted to see what his “noblest of professions” has sunk to. Of course, I think that journalism has never been “noble”. We now have alternative communications systems that allow us to see the truth. Journalists have always been lying to us.

Journalism and professional “liberalism"* have the same incentives and therefore behave the same way. Journalism is the bad news industry, and also the arrogance industry. Bad news sells, and putative objectivity sells. But because any serious attempt at objectivity begins with candor about why the writer might not be objective, putative objectivity is inherently self-falsifying. Thus, in its acknowledged negativity and its self-proclaimed “objectivity," journalism is cynical about society. Journalism is also cynical about democracy, in that journalists believe that nothing actually matters except PR. Journalist believe in “the Fourth Estate” - what they call themselves - and not easily influenced voters. Journalism is naive about government, because journalism believes itself to be the government.

There is a revolving door between journalism and “liberal” politicians, because “liberal” politicians are also cynical towards voters and naive about government. It is the defining characteristic of “liberalism."

* My use of the scare quotes refers to the fact that the meaning of the word “liberal” was changed - essentially inverted - in the 1920s (source: Safire’s New Political Dictionary)
