I graduated from Culver in ‘63 and was in the Black Horse Troop and on the special equestrian drill team, the Lancers.

Sad but true many cadets were snooty, and from some of the nations (and foreign) weathiest families. I knew some well.

But many of us were just common folk and not snooty at all. I came from a middle-class family and actually initiated the idea of my going to Culver with my parents when I was 15, and they agreed to send me if I would do well - which Culver also required or I would have been sent back a year. By God’s grace, I graduated in the top 1/4 of our class with the highest rank achievable by a 2-year student, a step below the highest.

Our whole class is in communication by email and I can tell you the vast majority are passionate conservatives - who have so angered the very few (predictable) liberals that the libs asked to be removed from many of the discussions about the election - both pre and post. Many of the comments by the conservatives fit right in line with FR and you would have thought many were members.

Those who achieved and performed well at Culver have most all gone on to be real successes in life - again, as one would predict.

I’m sorry it was the snobs (looked down on “townies”) that you met.

Please don’t judge all of us by their bad example.

We never did. We all just went our own ways and did our own things. It's not like the cadets had a lot of time to hang around town anyway

It's not a lifestyle I would have chosen at the time, but I knew most of those guys wouldn't have been there if they couldn't cut the mustard.

I've never really looked it up, but are there any notable people that are CMA alumni?

Aside from you, that is...: )
