Like my BIL, who came here over 50 years ago from Turkey, to go to engineering school. Fell for my Sister, and emigrated. He’s a proud American citizen. Built a great company that makes special diamond tooling for our areospace industry.
Or my Shanghai-born ladyfriend, who is a CPA. Took them both years to become citizens, but they don’t regret doing it! Frustrating though!
