And the trade war came
Santa Cruz Sentinel ^ | 12/26/16 | Paul Krugman

Posted on 12/26/2016 5:20:04 PM PST by artichokegrower

Donald Trump got within striking distance of the White House — or, more precisely, Comey-and-Putin range — thanks to overwhelming support from white working-class voters. These voters trusted his promise to bring back good manufacturing jobs while disbelieving his much more credible promise to take away their health care.

They have a rude shock coming.

But white workers are not alone in their gullibility

We white workers are getting a little irritated with East Coast liberals telling us how naive we are. How come white worker has become a description of disrepute? How about black welfare parasites, Hispanic illegals, Asian fraud artists? To me white worker along with red neck are titles I hold with honor.

And, as we all know, journalists (you know, the folks who failed every course except writing) know far, far more about economics, science, politics, and EVERYTHING else than do those of the 95% of us who ahave far more IQ, accomplishments, and actual work experience.

The trade war has been going on for a while.

Funny that media supported by those who benefit from Chinese imports claim it hasn’t.

Krugman has been suffering from one of the severest cases of Diahrrhea of the Brain (since his one lonesome brain cell is in his ass anyway)

I really think Krugman has flipped out, seriously.
It is one thing to be a socialist ... it is quite another to be so patently disconnected from reality. Leaving his crazy politics aside, he is exhibiting major delusional symptoms and should, imho, be taken up for the very best medical psychiatric examination possible. Perhaps he can still be helped?

I believed President Trump’s credible promise to take away the mandate that I buy health insurance I don’t want. That’s called freedom, and I approve whether or not my “betters” insist that being forced to buy a bad investment is good for me.

“...the folks who failed every course except writing...”

Writing at the 6th grade level only. Since that’s what the industry has convinced itself that their ‘readership’ is limited to.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

It’s a good idea to keep up with what the enemy is telling itself as well as what it’s trying to sell to everyone else.

“They will respond in kind, targeting vulnerable U.S. sectors like aircraft and agriculture.”

US agriculture is hurting right now because of over production and a strong dollar. US ag has to compete in a global market where the competitors including next door in Mexico aren’t hindered by minimum wage, mandatory health insurance, environmental regulations, food safety regulations, and many other restrictions unique to our nation. Make the farmers in other countries operate under the same regulatory environment and even with the strong dollar US farmers will be able to compete.

Yeah, I know, that wasn't directed towards you. It's the same reason we occasionally watch CNN, listen to NPR and read the NYT. Like the NSA reading Pravda, you have to know what your enemies are up to.
