The Mexicans do that here

Hillbillies have picked up on it

Night lights by tombstones

I don’t get it

You’re a control freak about everything

I’m sure Kentucky will be fine anyhow

I WANT THE BEER CONCESSION AT HER BURIAL! It will be beer poured on her grave after it has been run through thousands of Veterans she stabbed in the back! Wish I could do the same for Cronkite!

For me it’s a public property thing. I suppose if, along with their right to put them up, I have the right to take them down, I’d not be so negative on them.

I think roadside crosses are fine

We’re not exactly overwhelmed with them in Tennessee but even the state does it

There is a natural time limit

I doubt many are up past five years if that

Those big hydraulic boom mowers and tree shredders are tough

Some folks especially mothers who lose a child on a road accident connect to the spot where their baby left the material world

I don’t have an issue with that in particular

Some don’t

If a child is killed on my frontage of my little horse joint I’ll be happy to let them put a cross up and help look after it

I know a woman in Nashville like this who would go to the spot where her 17 year old died ..,,she said she felt closest to him there and there is a large iron cross on the huge oak and the property owners are cool with it

So am i

Most states have regs on this so the Jefferson memorial showing up on 1-95 is not gonna happen

Why would it be your right ?

Do you carry a chain saw for offensive billboards?

You want to get worked up

Come where I live for open house signs

I think you are missing my point. I’m not trying to start some sort of a fight. I’m simply saying that it is unreasonable to allow, on public property that gets a lot of traffic, people to put up a shrine to a lost loved one that can remain indefinitely. Now, if they want to put it up on the private property near the road (as is done with billboards), they can have at it - as long as the property owner agrees.

I’m not fighting

I like you

You’re very polite

I just disagree about roadside crosses

I’m very empathetic to grief

Good thing in the October of my life

We don’t know for sure she was drunk until the autopsy results are released. She could have been texting or dodging a squirrel for all we know.

OK, I understand. But that’s why I said it is what graveyards are for. Those people actually have two memorials, and one is actually on public property with no permit,

And yeah, I’m pushin’ November. I’m 3 years older than Carrie Fisher.
