I’ve been saying it for days- We don’t just need to quit funding the UN but rather take that money ($3 BILLION per year) and give that money to Israel to help them build further settlements- and turn the UN building into housing for Jews
They already have “digs” in Brussels! Let the Belches “host” them, they already “host the EU.” What a wonderful “couple,” the EU and the UN.

Trump will be leery of trusting Cruz but will likely utilize his strong points to further his agenda.
Go a step further. Defund it. Then leave the organization. Then kick them off US soil. Turn the HQ in to a Trump luxury apartment building! Screw the UN. They have done nothing but perpetrate tyranny, support genocide, and pass anti-American anti-Israel resolution their entire history.
There needs to be more than just that. Any country that voted for the despicable resolution needs to never be eligible for US aid as long as the resolution stands. That includes military aid, development aid, countries should be placed on the no travel or trade list.

So you want to just change the name on the door? How long do you think it would take for the “New UN,” with European “Members,” to turn it into the same pile of crap we have today. UN-like “groups” are proven to be unworkable. The “interests” of the “members” are too diverse for any sort of consensus. It isn’t just the ME and African “members” that are the sole problem. Actually, for their own sake and safety, I’d vote for Israel to take more territory around them.

Nix on the "until" condition. Just get the United States out of the U.N. now. Our tax dollars to this organization just keeps a bunch of debate society members in Caviar, Limousines, and prostitutes.
At least you'd think they'd like us for that - but they are always scheming of new ways to milk more money out of us - and giving us a kick in the teeth in return.

Glad to see Ted Cruz standing up against this crap. Of course the Cruz haters on FR will never give him any credit, despite his rapprochement with DJT.
Defunding the U.N. is a start. Prosecuting the U.N. for its various crimes would be better (war crimes, human trafficking, prostitution rackets, Oil for Food, etc.).
There’s no reason for a long-term grudge between Cruz and Trump supporters.
I’m glad Cruz wants to defund the UN, but I want the U.S. and Israel out of the UN. Defunding is the first step.
The UN is an organization organized around Marxist principles. Each member pays according to its perceived ability, and gets benefits according to perceived need. It means that the USA pays the bulk of the expenses and gets none of the benefits.
Time to let a certain real estate developer put some luxury apartments at Turtle Bay.

Why do you want to replace a good for nothing with another good for nothing organization? The League of Nations was a failure. The United Nations is a failure. What on earth makes you think that a third try will be any better. It won’t. Best thing is to go our own way and do our own thing. Remember the Declaration of Independence? That last word “Independence” translates to Sovereignty. Long past time we got our Sovereignty back.
I hope Cruz redeems himself after all of the campaign BS that he pulled.
