Obama has few options to protect young immigrants

WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama is under pressure during his final weeks as president to do something — anything — to secure the future of hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the U.S. as children who could face deportation under the Trump administration. His options appear few.

At least 50 congressional Democrats are pushing Obama to take the rare if not unprecedented step of granting pardons to the young immigrants who have stepped forward to identify themselves in exchange for a promise that they'd be safe from deportation. The White House, though, has repeatedly ruled that out.

Several Republican lawmakers are crafting legislative proposals to solidify the place of these immigrants, sometimes called Dreamers, before Donald Trump takes office Jan. 20. Similar efforts have repeatedly failed, even with Democratic majorities in both chambers of Congress, so the likelihood of a legislative Hail Mary isn't great.

That leaves more than 741,000 immigrants wondering what's next.

Trump's plans for Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program are unclear. As a candidate, he pledged an immediate end to what he called an "illegal executive amnesty." But as the president-elect, he has softened that stance.

It would readily seem apparent the Lamestream media has banned the word "ILLEGAL" used with a CRIME.

If Trump goes soft on any of his ILLEGAL ALIEN campaign promises, he will be a one-term President.

Illegal aliens should not be protected from our laws by our elected officials.

Americans deserve a government that puts them above fraudulently documented foreigners.

That is what we voted for.

Obozo kept saying he had no authority to grant amnesty to the illegal parents of the “Dreamers,” but he finally did it anyway. The only thing that would stop him now is that President Trump can throw whatever BO signs into the trash can the afternoon of Jan. 20.

We either are a Nation that follows the rule of Law, or we are in chaos wandering to totalitarianism.

No one should be allowed to be outside the law - not the witch, and not some person who is the legal citizen of another country.

That leaves more than 741,000 immigrants wondering what's next.

Not to mention the other 29,229,000 illegal aliens in this country.

The "Dreamers" are legal citizens of another country.
Obama does not have the legal authority to pardon them.

REFERENCE--/According to the govt of Mexico, illegals on US soil are, in fact, Mexican citizens.

==============================================

AFFIDAVIT BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO
IN A SWORN AFFIDAVIT TO A TEXAS COURT, MEXICO
SWORE THAT MEXICANS ON US SOIL ARE MEXICAN CITIZENS.

A sworn affidavit by Mexico/s Consul General to a Texas court asserts that Mexico/s official govt policy is to encourage its poor people to migrate here illegally in order to access our generous welfare system

The Mexican consul's sworn testimony asserts that: "My responsibilities in this position include protecting the rights and promoting the interests of my fellow Mexican nationals, and, that the main responsibility of consulates is to provide services, assistance, and protection to Mexican nationals abroad."

A footnote states that Mexican nationality is granted to children born abroad of a Mexican born parent. IOW, anchor babies born in the US retain parents Mexican nationality.

==========================================

Ergo, illegals have two governments looking after their interests.....our govt subsidizing them, and the Mexican govt making sure they collect.

Its time the US govt look after the interests of American citizens.

Uh, no, even the NAME of the program is "deferred action" so what's the problem? I bet he didn't sell it as a permanent thing when he did it, so it's crooked to complain about it now.

O doubt that the Trump administration will actually deport Latino immigrants who are working and paying taxes with no record of crimes in the USA [other than being illegal immigrants].

Basically what I am saying is that the problem with the border and our idiotic politicians are just as much to blame for people coming to the USA from south of the border. We need to get control of the border as the first priority - along with IDing those people who have committed felonies. Deport them ASAP.

This entire problem is so annoying. But it is caused by our own politicians who are either corrupt or afraid of the backlash of enforcing the borders. It is bad for the rest of the citizens who are tax paying and who ought to get the jobs first. Seal the border and expel any felons - then figure out how to deal with the rest of the problem. Any of these immigrants who are getting welfare checks or have been here less than 5 years, send them back.

That is my 2 cents worth. I know others will not agree with me - but I do not think it is possible to locate about 12-15 million of these ‘illegal’ immigrants and then expel them, and to do so might actually cause civil disruption which would make the past 8 years look peaceful.

“If Trump goes soft on any of his ILLEGAL ALIEN campaign promises, he will be a one-term President. “

That’s as true as the day is long.

And I will lead the charge.

Yes, illegal is illegal. Send them home. I don’t care if they came here as a three-month-old or a two week old or a one day old, send them home.

The WALL must be built. The criminal element must be removed immediately. Those that break the law, crime or voting would be deported.

Penalty for others would be that they productive (have jobs) or served in military and not on any social supports.

Those that overstayed their visas must go as well.

Protection for illegals?

Illegal aliens are the perpetrators of heinous crimes on Americans...

American citizens are the ones who need protection...

Amen.
