Barack Obamas plan for military intervention in Syria was abruptly derailed by David Cameron and British members of parliament, US secretary of state John Kerry claimed on Thursday.
The American president said he would bomb the Syrian regime if it used chemical weapons but he did not follow through on his promise. The failure to enforce his stated red line after President Bashar al-Assad used sarin gas in a Damascus suburb in August 2013 is seen by some as the worst stain on Obamas legacy.
The British parliaments vote against air strikes has long been cited by Obama and others as a causal factor but Kerry made the link explicit just a week after a diplomatic spat with the United Kingdoms prime minister, Theresa May, over a United Nations resolution that condemned Israel.
The president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, did decide to use force and he announced his decision publicly and he said were going to act, were going to do what we need to do to respond to this blatant violation of international law and of warnings and of the red line he had chosen, he said.
Now, we were marching towards that time when, lo and behold
Prime Minister David Cameron went to the parliament
and he sought a vote for approval for him to join in the action that we were going to engage in. And guess what, the parliament voted no, they shot him down. . .

It was payback for Obama sending back the bust of Churchill.
omega male kerry mumbles something from the back of the pack, but exactly what? not worth the click
Exactly. None of them have the cajones to take responsibility for any wrongdoing they have done and they have done a lot of wrongdoing!
With the left there’s always someone to blame. It’s simply not in their DNA to be adults and accept their part in anything unless it makes them look good personally or politically. It’s always about optics with the left which is a big part of why no one trusts them anymore; not even their own.
So having drawn a line in the sand by himself he decided he needed help from the UK when his bluff was called? Coward!
Cooler heads recognized that sarin incident as an all too obvious false flag
We should be thanking the UK
LOL!
Kerry hasn’t blamed the Jews yet?
Now its England’s fault? Why not blame feckless Obama and corrupt Hillary? They were in Charge at the time.
Obama wanted Assad out so that ISIS could take Syria.
When Vlad parked his destroyer offshore, ready to plunk our boats, our undercover Islamo Nazi leader backed off.
Vlad saved the day.
Whites derail the half castes streamliner
Always someone else’s fault for his inaction - I remember when folks in that neck of the woods wanted to block Reagan’s “message” to Qaddafi by denying refueling and even flyover permissions - he put our in-air refuelers to work and the pilots made some really long flights, but the message was delivered.
The “O” administration has used the WOT to further it’s OWN anti-American agenda.... their hiding behind the WOT to do this is sort of a ‘war INSIDE of a war’, and the Liberals (MSM, especially) swallowed it whole.
They hate anyone who sees it for what it is.
Easter Island Head, you know it was Obama’s vagina...
Obama did not need the approval or the help of the U.K.
Kerry keeps making excuses for Obama’s foreign policy failures.
We dont need more intervention in Syria.
We were/are already backing, training and arming AQ and other terrorist entities if not ISIS itself.
We need to get the hell out of that place and never go back.
I would be delighted if, on January 19th, England withdrew their ambassador to the United States and expelled ours from London.
Unlucky for you Trump is an anglophile who is putting the Churchill bust back in the Oval Office.
You misunderstand. They will be welcome to restore their ambassador on January 20th, as they welcome President Trump’s new ambassador to the Court of Saint James.
It would be a delightful way for England to say that they don’t want to insult the United States; they want to insult Barack Obama. Which reaction, I think, we are in their debt because they didn’t do it a long time ago.
Then again, we had to put up with Piers Morgan, so maybe we’re even.
