Warren takes aim at Trump's pick for education secretary (fake Indian on the warpath alert)
Boston Globe ^ | January 9, 2017 | Annie Linskey

Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts says Besty DeVos, President-elect Donald Trump's pick to run the Department of Education, has a "radical political philosophy" and a thin resume for the job.

"There is no precedent for an Education Department Secretary nominee with your lack of experience in public education," Warren wrote in a lengthy letter sent to DeVos on Monday morning.

DeVos hasn't held top policy-making positions in the past, unlike other picks for the position by past presidents. Warren said that DeVos has "virtually no experience" in handling student debt, developing standards for school accountability, or improving schools - the key responsibilities for the job.

DeVos is particularly known for giving money to bolster pro-charter school laws, which liberals tend to dislike. ... Support for charter schools is a pet cause for many Republican donors who want to disrupt the public school system. That's left conservatives thrilled with the choice, including some who've been skeptical of Trump.

We don’t want an insider. We want someone on our side for a change.

Pocahontas is going to make as much noise as possible in a transparent attempt to elevate herself to the top of the Democratic pecking list.

I don’t know where her heap-feeble mind thinks THAT’S going to get her - unless she thinks the little brain stem that still functions in Democrats’ minds is DEAD SET on “breaking that glass ceiling!” next time around, and so won’t DARE nominate one of the dreaded nasty white men (not that anyone with a penis on that side of the aisle really QUALIFIES as a man).

The joke is that if she makes it, she’s only slightly less offensive than Hillary, and would also rub the majority of the country the wrong way.

You have to love Democrats these days (okay. I take that back. I NEVER love Democrats). They certainly show they know how to lose and keep on losing.

“Warren said that DeVos has “virtually no experience” in handling student debt, developing standards for school accountability, or improving schools - the key responsibilities for the job.”

$$$$$$$$$$$$

Handling student debt - they should have little if any at all? Squaw Warren, why do we have college grads with useless majors and $200k of debt?

Developing standards for school accountability - This is a job for the states

Improving schools - Again, a job for the states.

-—(DeVos)has a “radical political philosophy” and a thin resume for the job.-—

And that’s the way we like it.

By the way, Fauxahontas, what are YOUR qualifications? Other than acting out a lie, that is.

Lack of experience in public education is not a limiting factor for the tasks which must be done to clean up the Department of “Education”.

Most of the task is to SHUT DOWN the Federal involvement in all levels of public expenditures for education, and to turn to other means of funneling necessary funds to the right recipients.

This may involve changing the mission to include block grants to the individual states, and means of providing school choice to EVERY parent with school-age children in the entire country, local teacher unions be damned. If the public schools want to remain relevant, then address the REAL needs of the children and the nation. More than ever, we need a new generation coming up with the basic tools to address the challenges of the still unknown future.

‘The joke is that if she makes it, she’s only slightly less offensive than Hillary, and would also rub the majority of the country the wrong way.’

I lived in MA when Warren defeated Brown. She was a wretchedly bad candidate. Only in blue-state MA could she have prevailed.

After her victory she was asked for a statement. She is was so unprepared and lackluster, even the far Left pinko rag, The Boston Globe, was underwhelmed/critical. She’s since improved, but she’ll always be a weak campaigner outside of deep blue states.

I am no fan of DeVos, and I have my reasons which I have stated before. But if EW thinks she is going to be a shrinking violet wall flower and cause a show, she has got another thing coming. The whole DeVos family ( and Betsy's brother who started BlackWater ) are nonsense high performance people.

Just grab the popcorn, this ought to be as good as Schumer get his @zz handed to him when he thinks he is all that sitting up their on a Senate Subcomittee dais.
