Yes, you're right, but they still carry a lot of weight in the culture which is why I think they have to be confronted because little by little people, thanks to Trump, are catching on to how much the media, including hollywood, lies to support their agenda.

Maybe because they're up on the big screen and larger than life, and then, every so often dems in congress call them in to share their knowledge and venerable wisdom. They are accepted that way because no one calls them out. Until Trump, that is.

What a florid display of ego and self- delusion! ENTERTAINERS have come to believe that they are not only vital to daily life-they think they are more important than your family,friends and people who supply daily needs! They are entitled to their opinions- we all have them- but they are selling LUXURY and their customers( us ) don't have to be harangued while we give them our money. Would we tolerate scolding shopping for food? Why do they think we will buy their 'product' when they berate and scold our politics? If anything, they should be concerned NOT to alienate their customers- without moviegoers and music buyers THEY are out of business!

Perhaps people like Streep- and a few others I do like- should be countered in a way they can understand: The Lion King-think about it. When Scar took over the hyenas ran rampant and the kingdom went to ruin. It's a perfect analogy. Obama is Scar-and the pride(working America) has suffered. Now, Scar is GONE and the hyenas are howling. Liberals ARE the hyenas-and while they can- and have always- existed they no longer rule the land! Funny how what they understand and applaud as entertainment they cannot appreciate in reality. My first reaction to Streep and other celebrity moaners is- WHAT are they afraid to lose??

I thank you very much for a lot of thoughtful words about a topic most people think is trite, but the truth is these celebrities wield a lot of power and cred in the culture and, until Trump, no one in the media really ever took them on.

I was a bit busy so I couldn't pay close attention, but last week I heard a caller into Savage, I think it was, telling Michael that the libs, dems, elites, et cetera were so upset by the election loss because the system is their god - its what they believe in, what makes them feel significant and purposeful, where they get their "causes" from, what gives them their power, and most times, a lot of money. It is what animates them even though it is startlingly shallow, but it satisfies all those things in them. And pretty soon they are so ensconced they forget there are other wisdoms, and other eyes, and thoughts.

Anyway, I have decided while Trump is working in WH, crusading for America, I am going to wage my own little crusades that he awoke in me, and this is one of them.
