I disagree. Defending Poland is something we should do. We sold the Poles into 45 years of Soviet Slavery after WW2. We owe them big time.

The bottom line, which I’m sure you know, is to to have a CREDIBLE defense in Poland and the Baltics against a Russia that wants to invade would require a standing army of 500,000 American troops are so, which would mean basically every ground troop we have. Otherwise, Russia will be able to roll over whatever we station there. Heck, we have 40,000 in Korea and everyone knows it’s just a tripwire to buy time if the Norks invade...and that’s against a backwards country that is one tenth the size of Russia.
Bottom line is that if Russia wants to invade Poland, Russia WILL invade Poland - we simply do not have a conventional military with near the deterrent capability to stop them.
The question then becomes - what’s making people (Obama and the Neocons) so convinced that Russia will invade Poland?

The Russians can't even roll over the Ukrainian army. They have (maybe) 5 - 10 properly equipped and trained armored brigades.
Ok, I am using intervention equally. But did Putin’s “invasion” cause a regime change? And also consider the distance from the US to Ukraine.
