Well yeah of course

Why would a doctor install a pacemaker in someone who does not have a heart?

When did she start saying that it was bipartisan?

She’s quite aware of how the vote went down only Democrats voted for it

I speculated earlier in the thread that she would complain about this bipartisan action to pass the bill to close down Obamacare

And completely ignore the actual facts

As I understand it, Congress persons have a separate and generous healthcare plan for life.

AIUI, they’ve never had to deal with Ob-care in the first place, which is why they do’ give a ...... about what happens to the people.

Rand Paul was the only Republican who didn’t vote for the repeal

He, like cruz, has his own agenda.

Both would like 2 run for president in 2020 if their subtle sabatuge of the Trump admin works

Otherwise they both have to wait till 2024

My liberal (not Liberal) daughter, who works in the insurance field, seems to think this is a bad idea. She thinks the insurance will go up with no restrictions.

My response (since I know next to nothing about the way it works)? At least the folks won’t be fined for not having it!

She is repeating what she hears around the office.

There are at least two condition, immediate term and longer. The rates may rise immediately to cover risk that can’t be evaluated with certainty. As time goes the rates can stabilize or trend down as the change or the perception of change clicks in.

The rates ultimately depend on the effectiveness of competition on costs. Unmentioned but certainly in the various bills are provisions for capping lawsuits and predatory lawyers.

I think I could forgive her if she “heard it around the office,” but she is the manager of a sleep lab and works directly with insurance companies. If I remember rightly, she was against it when Obamacare came out. So this sudden righteous indignation she has about it being “needed” is not going to cut it with her Ma!

But thanks, Bert, for ‘splainin’ that to me. I’m not a victim of it, except how it affects Medicare premiums and coverage, and my Medigap insurance is so effective that I only felt the change in a couple co-pays for tests. Otherwise, no.

There is a huge difference between “adding” to the public debt and acknowledging the public debt. It is already there, the adding to occurred over the last year. Hussein has almost tripled the national debt in 8 yrs.

Every one of them should serve a minimum of 10 years in prison. EVERY ONE OF THEM.
