Immigrants who have come to our country in search of better opportunities have been the economic backbone of America for well over a century. In the face of a difficult job market for many immigrants, their keys to the American Dream may not be readily available.
Nowhere is this truer than with nonunion jobs, which typically offer lower pay, limited benefits and virtually no job security. In a new country with little knowledge of the labor market, these work conditions make immigrants more vulnerable to worker exploitation, sometimes with heartbreaking results.

Union folk need no schtinking college scholarship, that is why they joined.
Unions want to launder all the benefits so they can skim the money, eg pension, school, medical. Just legalize tax free accounts already.
Good to see the AFL-CIO has abandoned any pretense of representing the American worker.
Gompers wrote the 1924 Immigration act which the current so-called friends of the Working Man now spit on.
Guess they’ve finally outed themselves for what they really are: anti-American thugs.
Oh the irony. AFL-CIO policies are one of the main reasons that LEGAL immigrants can’t find entry level jobs.
As long as you pay dues, they really don’t care what country (or planet) you’re from.
You cannot have open borders and a welfare state.
