Global investors are fleeing Mexico's financial markets, sending the peso to record lows on mounting concerns that Donald Trump's trade policy could end the country's privileged status among developing countries.

The peso tumbled 2% on Tuesday to another all-time low against the dollar, frustrating Mexican central-bank efforts to slow the currency's decline. Bank officials said Tuesday that they spent $2 billion last week to prop up the peso, which has weakened nearly 16% against the dollar since the U.S. election.

If they return home, it should have the same positive impact on the Mexican economy. I am certainly willing to make the sacrifice.

I agree, let's do it....for Mexico!!!

If it was up to me, we’d start with mass arrests and deportations of everyone either belonging to or known to be an associate of MS13 and the 18th Streeters.

In my vision of events, we’d start with mass executions of everyone either belonging to or known to be an associate of MS13 and the 18th Streeters.

But, I'm probably more of an @554013 than you are.

Narcoterrorist invaders are exactly that - an invading enemy force that should be given no quarter.

“But, I’m probably more of an @554013 than you are.”

You take that back right this instant!

I am The King! of @554013s!!

Btw, your plan is better, of course. I was simply mealy-mouthing in an effort to delay the day of my exile from this place.

We here in Texas (and other border states)have had to put up with all this nonsense certainly for my entire life. I don't blame the average impoverished Mexican for wanting to come here and work to better their lives and those of their families. I would do the same if I lived in a hell hole like Mexico.

I blame the U.S. Government for this! Congress after congress, president after president have let us down in regards to protecting American citizens from dangerous individuals coming in from South of the border. I can say, most Mexicans are not blood thirsty criminals. That said, their culture is much different. They will work the system, they will go around the system...do whatever it takes to survive. They don't care about the laws. It is about survival. Just like the middle east refugee issue, there are very dangerous hombres mixed in with those who just want to work. I mean REAL bad guyz that will shoot you and your family in order to make the next drug shipment.

We need a wall, we need it yesterday.

Good idea, but it would take some significant relocation of resources. I’m at Fort Bliss now, right on the border at El Paso. Juarez is really big and right there on the border. I’m not sure where the heaviest crossing areas are—maybe AZ? That’s a haul for a DIVARTY unit, even a BCT. Certainly not impossible, but it would take a minute and cost a pretty penny.

I was a support weeny in an arty bn (5/10 2MarDiv) way back when.

Traveling is half the training required for arty. Lord knows we lost enough trucks to breakdowns along the way from Swamp Lagoon to Ft. Bragg when moving for a shoot.

Only way to know the transport works is to work the transport.

Also reminds me of a Team Spirit ex in Korea way back when too. There was a Radio Bn trailer at an airport in Japan. It was to be transported to Korea. Only one tractor capable of moving the trailer.

They could load the trailer in Japan but then wouldn’t be able to unload it in Korea. Or they could unload it in Korea, but not load it in Japan.

But, we did finally get our C130 full of cold weather gear for that ex. (we’d just shipped in from the Philippines on ex and were traveling light). Unfortunately, it was a load of compressed sponges rather than the cold weather gear.

Gotta beta test the transport and log plans. There’s *always* bugs to be worked out.
