U.S. Sen. John McCain has been known to hold a grudge, but there's one grudge the Republican from Arizona has been holding for nearly five years now.
It stems back to comments U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia, made during the 2008 presidential race, when McCain and his veep pick, then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, were running a heated campaign against then-Sens. Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
In a lengthy New Republic interview with McCain published Tuesday, McCain compares some of the rhetoric his campaign was using against Obama ("palling around with terrorists") to rhetoric directed at his campaign.
"With all due respect, you never heard about when John Lewis said my campaign was worse than the Birmingham church bombing?" McCain asks the interviewer.
"Maybe Sarah Palin said 'palling around with terrorists,' but the things that were said about me and her were far worse. I'll never forgive John Lewis."

After getting away with this, and the lie about the Tea Party hurling racial epithets at him, Lewis and his media/DNC cohorts are angry that Donald Trump dares fight back against the persistent liar and vicious attack dog for the Democrats.

Trump picks his fights more carefully than many realize.
The majority-minority district Dems are very weak.

Doesn’t sound like he’s standing for Trump, just himself.

Article is from 2013.
Guessing you won’t see McCain stand up for Lewis like others in the pathetic #NeverTrump crowd (Kristol, Sasse).
To: Trump20162020
That makes two of us I will never forgive McCain for his treachery and backstabbing.

Wow. John stands up to him [in 2013]. Feels good doesnt it John?Note the complete absence of anger from the usual suspects: Obama, the NAACP, the CBC, all the 'news' networks, all the 'news' papers.....
.... that's because they like to keep Democrat infighting hidden.

I can’t believe that McCain took time out of his busy schedule to be interviewed by the New Republic (extreme sarcasm)
To: Rusty0604
Ah, we know what he is. Let’s take it and run.
I don’t give a #### who’s at the inauguration from congress and who’s not. Don’t care if they say Trump attended orgies in Manhattan every week.
He’s president for 1400+ days.
And there ain’t no changing that :)

McCain might be standing up for himself, but in doing so he just sent Trumps stock straight up. Not that Trump needs it though...☺

I don’t thin McCain forgave George Bush (and the Republican Party) for the 200 South Carolina primary.

John McCain is a RINO POS. As for John Lewis, he has been living off of his affiliation with Rev. Martin Luther King for far too many years.
Lewis spoke against the nomination of Sen. Sessions for AG a few days ago, and later we see a photo of him in the front line of an anti-segregation march many years ago locking arms with the same Jeff Sessions. What a absolute phony is he.

I can’t stand John McCain but seriously, John Lewis is a liar and an idiot who has been constantly used by the democrats and has done nothing at all for his district in Atlanta.
If black democrats in Atlanta weren’t such know-nothing idiots themselves, they would have gotten rid of Lewis a long, long time ago.

Seems to me that John Lewis protests way too much. I wonder how much of his vaunted heroism is true. We have a long record among leftwingers of "stolen valor," and somehow Lewis just doesn't smell right. He probably was at the right place at the right time, but has anyone actually documented and verified his claims about being such a victim?
To: Trump20162020
If RINO and traitor John McCain wants to take a shot at Lewis, I'm fine with that.
And it was a pretty good shot.
