Cabrini Green was demolished years ago. Although I am rarely in Chicago I happened to be near 300 N. LaSalle today. Despite all the press reports of rampant thug life in Chicago this neighborhood was all business in the middle of the day.
Cabrini Green got torn down DECADES ago and rebuilt with lovely town homes, and expensive other types of buildings. It is no longer a damned ghetto for the thugs.
Once in a while weird things can happen up there too...maybe 15 years ago another prominent real estate figure, Lee (?) Miglin, was murdered in his Near North garage by a gay drifter that later went on to murder clothing designer Versace in Florida. They still don’t know just what led up to Miglin’s death.
