It is not where you are from but how you get here that determines how welcome you are.

Everyone else will fall into line pretty quickly.

Here’s a question for our attorney Freepers: If an official or officer varies from his/her oath of office,or acts beyond his/her area of responsibility, wouldn’t he/she lose his/her immunity?

When Turner’s re-election campaign comes, I wonder how much of his funding will come from out of state sources over this issue.

The previous (lesbian) mayor received millions of out of state funding for her campaign and she pushed the homofascist agenda (despite her promise to voters that she would not).

Clearly sanctuary cities take a position that puts foreign nationals above US law. It is seditious.

If people get hurt or killed because of this mayor’s refusal to followed the law, family members should have the right to sue him and the city!

Turner’s position is NOT neutral, he established a new government office to welcome them.

It all comes down to the money pot. Suck dry the labor from illegals with under the table pittance pay. Nice little slave labor force you got there. They stay in the shadows and quiet because if they act up, out they go.

We see what scam you got going there. Nice little slaves.

Don’t forget the SNAP benefits, the federal $’s per student filled seat in the public schools. And all of the myriad other Federal bennies that they can apply for.

Should have checked. You are in CA. San Diego perhaps?

Your step #2 is probably not needed if step #3 is implemented “with vigor”.

Sylvester Turner is like most big City democrat mayors — old, black and stupid. If we had border controls it would be bad for two major Houston industries: importation and distribution of narcotics and the sex slave traffic.

I watched the you tube where Trey Gowdy intellectually shredded a Baton Rouge official because they are not asking suspects about immigration status. Stick with plan A and impose a 1million dollar fine for every quarter that companies do not use e verify. Then a 10 thousand dollar fine for every illegal employed to recover the cost of ICE investigations. No jobs and out they go. In CO and CA you could offer coupons for “medical marijuana” for information on illegals. Any time a previously deported illegal was caught, drop him in Cartel City, naked. Just kidding about that last part.

“restored both the Immigration and Nationality Act Section 287(g) and the Secure Communities Program, which are used to compel local law enforcement agencies to enforce federal immigration law.”

Local governments cannot be drafted to carry out federal laws. That includes counties, sheriffs and Indian tribes. All these government units are sovereigns according to English common law. The USSC has reaffirmed this numerous times, with the most recent decision being Mack v US.

Can the federal government “compel” local governments by withholding federal money? I don’t know but would guess the answer is yes.

Suggest reading between the lines. All that release is feel good stuff for the local Hispanic voters. The meat is that Houston will NOT protect criminal aliens from surrender to INS and deportation.

It’s an 80 % victory. Run with it.

You want local cooperation on illegals? Cut off all federal grants to local PDs, and replace that with bounties for each illegal criminal caught and turned over for deportation.
