Do you still think you can LEGALLY sell a firearm in WA without a background check?
Don’t live there, don’t know specifics ..... but seems discombobulated to the point of ....no.
Do you know if Oregon’s new law is the same way?
Thanks,
Ed
I don’t know. but Oregon is a bit schizophrenic in that they are pretty left in a lot of ways, but they get downright ornery when it comes to their 2nd amendment rights. I’ll see what I can find.
Here’s a link to the Oregon law. It looks pretty similar to me, but IANAL.

Thanks, Don!

Just in case anyone thinks the chart in post 41 is satire - it isn’t. And while private sales could be performed without the paperwork - at all the gun shows that I knew about, one was already pre-screened by filling out a similar version to the Federal Form and the gunshow people did a background check on me before I could become a member.
And yes - I often break the law when I trade off shotguns with my adult son at the gun range and shoot a few rounds. That is now considered an illegal transfer, and is spelled out in the 18 page law. (I CAN let my wife use my gun, or a minor under my supervision - but only at a regulated gun range.) The term “regulated” is not defined, so who knows what that means.
The Sheriffs and other LEO’s here in E. Washington state are ignoring the law.
