A Texas mosque has received nearly $1m in donations after it was destroyed in a fire over the weekend.
More than $900,000 had been raised to rebuild the Islamic Center of Victoria as of Monday afternoon, according to a GoFundMe page.
Texas officials have yet to determine the cause of the blaze, which happened in the early hours of Saturday.

Something funny here. Texans are generous but there is no way $1mm has been raised from local or even statewide sources. I don’t say this to raise any questions about the benevolence or tolerance of the people of Victoria or the state in general; I’m just saying that amount of money does not reflect the state’s political culture. The money came from somewhere (if the story is accurate), but it isn’t local, regional or statewide.

Our family and friends do not. We have our share of weirdo’s just like any state though and a WHOLE lot of muzzies. The Houston Independent School District has open an Arab Immersion pre-school and mosques dot our skyline. Makes me sick!

Texas has nearly 500,000 muslims at the last count I’ve seen. The Houston area has
a large celebration each year at the end of Ramadan, upwards of 15,000 attending.
