If indeed drones were behaving differently they aren’t stupid folks, they are going to assume something is up.

Not the first time SEALs have been betrayed, if this is what happen. The C-47 shoot down in Afghanistan in 2011 was viewed by any as being compromised. I know Resident Trump has his plate full but he needs to fire every man, woman, he/she and everything in between that had anything to do with Obama. Just fire them.

This is not an accurate or reliable conjecture. Drones have multiple, sophisticated sensors which do not require reducing altitude.
If the article is accurate and AQAP was alerted, which I doubt, the warning was likely the result of a leak transmitted by secure comms. Equipment retrieved will reveal if this occurred. Also, AQAP has been known to use women and children as shields and fighters for years. No one would have been be surprised by this.

Generally, you don’t send in lightly armed military when the enemy knows they’re coming.
Six wounded and we lost an Osprey and had to attack it.
We now know we can’t trust the opsec of any op developed with zero in office and have to re-plan. This intimidates the enemy: with no notice henceforth from zeroists, they have to re-shuffle all THEIR holdings/plans, making them easier to detect.
Maddog will have to bring back nearly every officer zero fired plus 10 of each one’s trusted friends!

51 posts nattering on about the possibility of leaked info or other side issues and Faucetman zooms in on the salient aspect- why the Sam hell did they continue with the op? Either this was an attempt to seize computers, prisoners or other intel assets of high importance or it was a probe to test defenses or it was simply a raid to knock out a control nexus, in which case let the Predator gamers have a day at the console.
Not to mention that those G**damn Ospreys are a crap shoot every time you hit the start switch. Someone needs to kick some sense into our military command structure. We need genius at every level, not careerist ticket punchers. Poor performance on the ground reflects poor performance at the top every ding dong time. We need a shakeup at the command schools and military academies. We need SMART soldiers. Every branch of every service needs to consider themselves “elite” and be trained as such. Intelligent leadership breeds intelligent leadership. There is no other formula for this.
