And I wonder how many “billionaire Democratic donors” AP failed to point out, who got cabinet positions.

A recent Forbes article put the Trump Cabinet net worth at $3.75 billion and the Obama cabinet net worth at $ 2.75 billion

Do We really need a government run by people who are unsuccessful in real life ?

They need to hurry up and do this, so that Sessions can be confirmed. They need his vote for this, and we need him at the Justice Department soonest.

What’s interesting about the Forbes piece is that most of the new cabinet have relatively modest means by comparison with the truly wealthy. The Trump cabinet great wealth is concentrated in only two or three.

I wonder if anybody has compiled a list of all the school choices made by Democratic Senators for their own children.

Any Democratic Senators who have sent their children to private schools should not be allowed to vote against DeVos.

Was the Obama cabinet net worth at the time of their nomination, or after?

If Devos does not get through, perhaps Trump will decide to abolish the Dept. of Education, as should be done anyway. Send the power back to the states. (That would be fun to watch)

“......the Obama cabinet net worth at $ 2.75 billion”...

That was on the day they started in office, definitely NOT when they were escorted out of the “Swamp”. I would love to see a report of “before and after”, might be some real eye openers. Once that list is compiled then send in the dogs to sniff out how they “earned” such wealth during their time in office. (Jail time as a reward).

I haven’t followed this one that closely but can anybody explain in a paragraph or two the objections that those two Republican senators have to DeVos? What exactly are the concerns cited by “parents and teachers.”

I really, REALLY hope she gets to fill the post. Time to make Education competitive, creative, and get it ripped out of the grip of bureaucrats who have the American Educational system in the PITS with the ACT scores in horrible nosedives. Give her a chance...Senators. PLEASE.

A very capable appointee who is on the right side of the education issue for a refreshing change.

Hopefully Secretary DeVoss will supervise the disassembly and burning of the DOE. After it’s accomplished she can join Hillary and say: “I’m fighting for children and families.”

Restore sanity in education. Get the central government and the union out of education.

Collins only $4,000 total, but Murkowski $23,500 total.
