Most urban districts already have some CHOICE what people are missing on this issue is that the charters were backed by super leftist Arne Duncan and Betsy will continue this work.
Parents will take the money, regs will follow, Curriculum (feral leftist training) will stay the same, school boards will be “private” and bitching parents can tell their bathroom mirror how pissed they are at goings on at their school.
Sometimes you have to be in the deep #&($ to get it I guess.
Their reasons are at the link:
Seems ‘weak’ to me - the real reason is ‘follow the money’ - both Collins/Murkowski are bought/paid for by the teacher’s union(s).
Probably didn't add in the Clinton Foundation money she accumulated while SoS...
what I know about my town, Pittsburgh is:
city government budget $520 million
city public schools budget $560 million
city schools have only 25,000 students, so the cost of education is $22,000 per student, equivalent to a pricey private school
this is financed by property taxes imposed by the school board
the problem is the dropout rate is very high and the graduation rate is very low
Public School in the US was DELIBERATELY DESTROYED notice how they have diverted the conversation. In TX the School Choice jive-talking roadshow by Republican lawmakers has already begun. One Homeschool group backed it and can be seen as having been bought off the other homeschool Defense group has warned against School Choice as they can see it’s only one stone’s throw until its complete control for ALL STUDENTS.
We have to focus on WHAT they are teaching our kids and cut off the federal mafia. Go visit YESPREP or KIPP charters-simply read their twitter stream. Publicly-funded Charters-just as bad as public schools.
