Steve Forbes: GOP could lose the House if they botch this Steve Forbes: GOP could lose the House if they botch this 11 Hours Ago | 02:52 President Donald Trump and House Republicans need to get their promised pro-growth agenda moving, two-time GOP presidential candidate Steve Forbes told CNBC on Wednesday.
"If they botch this thing on taxes," Republicans could lose control of the House in the 2018 midterm elections, Forbes warned, putting Trump in the tough spot of having to work with Democrats who have not been shy at showing their disdain for the president.
"I think [Trump] realizes if this economy doesn't grow, his presidency is finished, would be seen as a failure," the chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media said on "Squawk Box." "That's why I think he needs to move fast on the tax cuts, get things moving."
Forbes said Trump has gone after the low hanging fruit of bracing companies to move manufacturing back to the U.S. and signing executive orders to get the ball rolling on reversing Obama administration regulations in energy and banking.

Just what we need, more back seat drivers to go with the 60 million already there.
Ryan and McConnell have never been compromised.
Both of them are center-left Republicans who have always supported large parts of the Democratic Party agenda.
Both of them are men of principle.
Unfortunately, the wrong principles.
Yeah principle of a rat.
All those promised jobs from corporations are based on a new tax structure. Bammy-care is also part of it. If we have to wait six months to a year Trump will be hammered as a bomb thrower without delivering on his two main campaign promises: jobs and eliminating Obamacare. Period.
Only ~677 to choose from. Finding one in the 9th Circus is a Big Plus.
If he wouldn't take a consolation prize, like WINNING a Senate seat, I couldn't take him seriously after that.
I'd respect him a lot more if he put his money where his mouth is.
Plus I'm not impressed with the leftist turn his magazine has taken.
Almost as bad as national review.
Hint: in order to get conservative legislation passed, you have to actually WIN.
Being a "principled conservative" who opposes democrat presidents is still LOSING.
Yep - it won’t be Trump who “botches” it - it will be deliberate sabotage by the likes of Ryan and McConnell....
