Sears and KMart in death throes and they fail to understand that Trump voters are all that's holding them up

So true. If instead of this incomprehensible move, they'd shifted to a made-in-the USA pro America stance, they'd be heroes to many of those apt to shop KMart.

It's an example of how out of touch the elite (in this case business management) is

I would dump them here , but they have closed their stores. Must have closed due to their great business sense like they are showing on this. sarc

So True. Sears, once a giant among retailers, K Mart one of the predecessors to Wal Mart all drying up in the wind.

Fortunately, these two brands won’t be around much longer. Fug ‘em!

Sears is owned by Kmart, so it was the one Board that decided. The media makes it sound like 2 separate companies that each came to the decision to stop selling Trump merchandise.

Many don’t know who owns what, and view K Mart as inferior to Sears, so therefore think the opposite...

Shows how much Sears has declined, and watching locally how now K Marts are closing right and left.

Has anyone actually established that Sears and KMart could pay for the merch in the first place...?

You are probably correct. They couldn't. Here is the latest news (today's) on Sears Holding ( the holding parent holding company of Sears and Kmart ). They are short of bankruptcy.

From the article:

Sears, which has struggled for some time, continues to cut costs, but it still isn’t driving traffic and may still be facing bankruptcy. Sears Holdings Corp.’s stock soared more than 31% in Friday trading after the struggling retailer announced a $1 billion restructuring that includes strategies for cutting costs and optimizing its assets. However experts say it’s lacking one crucial element for a company turnaround: a plan to drive sales.

Brilliant move Sears/Kmart. Antagonizing your customer base is not a way to drive sales.

2. Target
3. Kmart
4. Sears

If Sears and KMart want to goose sales, here’s a suggestion: Beg, borrow, steal any and all merch with the name Trump attached to it. Make your store Trump Central. Just a thought.

Sears doesn’t know what market it’s in.
Ditto K-Mart.

If you have a broken Craftsman tool, and you’ve been dilly-dallying over exchanging it under their lifetime warranty...drag your feet no longer.

I guess they decided to increase the empty shelf space as Chapter 11 bankruptcy gets closer.

Wise move.

Sears and K Mart

They will have to close them both at the OBX NC. Many Trump voters here.

The new secretary of the treasury is (or was?) heavily invested in the hedge fund that owns Sears Holdings. It was started by his college roommate.

Same thing here in the “City of Evil” Ithaca, NY.

Both K Mart and Sears have closed here. I would boycott them, but they boycotted themselves.

They’re selling off closed stores, their signature items like the hand tool brand.
Pity...

Stanley bought the Craftsman line of tools. They will probably do well with it.

Our 2 K mart stores are now closed. Sears not far behind. And I’m not driving 2 hrs round trip to shop them, TJ Maxx, Targets, Starbucks, Panerea’s, Hot Buffalo Wings, or any other place except government property where my GUN is not allowed. No place with in 30 miles of Memphis is safe.
