I used to volunteer at a hospital for indigents in San Francisco:
A TON of Chinese immigrants bring in their parents and the FIRST thing they do is put them on EVERYTHING —super expensive medical care...
I remember one pair whose mother spoke ZERO words of English, she was ONE HUNDRED YEARS OLD and admitted, for ZERO costs to her family.
It’s totally ridiculous.
They have quick “how to” guides in Chinese for The Welfare Express.
Don’t even get me started on the Mexicans...
When my grandfather arrived at Ellis Island in the early 20th century, he was accompanied by his parents and an aunt. They were screened for health issues, and his aunt was found to have some kind of eye infection. They put her back on the ship and she was forced to make the journey back to Europe.
This is one of the bad aspects of immigration law. Family members receive special consideration to come. So, while you get minor children, you also get siblings and aged, unemployable adults. The more government services, the faster they can be registered to vote”D”
