Besides the Department of Justice, the Central Intelligence Agency, and perhaps former national security adviser Michael Flynn himself, the latest name to emerge in the spreading swamp of connivers who did Flynn in this week is none other than the Obama administration's former National Security Council deputy adviser for strategic communications, Ben Rhodes.
According to a report in the Washington Free Beacon, Flynn's resignation:
... is the culmination of a secret, months-long campaign by former Obama administration confidantes to handicap President Donald Trump's national security apparatus and preserve the nuclear deal with Iran, according to multiple sources in and out of the White House who described to the Washington Free Beacon a behind-the-scenes effort by these officials to plant a series of damaging stories about Flynn in the national media. The effort, said to include former Obama administration adviser Ben Rhodes[.]

Trump is an ass.
You don’t fire a good man and then blame the media for your screw-up in firing him.
Either Michael Flynn was a good man or he failed in his job.
No way it can be both. This fiasco was self-inflicted because Trump didn’t have the balls to stand up for his National Security Adviser.
Obama officials need to be shown their come to Jesus moment by patriots as soon as possible. This is much more than politics as usual.... This has become a war for the survival of America.
I’m thinking there’s much more to this than “Trump is an ass”.
There’s a lot more behind the scenes to this that we’re not being told.... Yet.
The buck stops with the President.
What we heard today - the media didn’t push Trump to fire Flynn.
He took that decision himself. If he felt it was unfair to Flynn, he could have refused his letter of resignation.
But don’t shove someone out of the door and not accept the responsibility for it.
As a CEO and President, that’s what Trump should have done.
It’s all too easy for us Monday morning quarterbacks to call the game from the cheap seats. Let’s see how this plays out. I think something about Flynn told Trump he’d be better off without him.
“I think something about Flynn told Trump hed be better off without him.”
Yup....Flynn was a wild card...couldn’t wait to show Putin he was ready to deal with him...should have never made the calls!!
Maybe Trump felt this crisis showed Flynn lacked some skills needed for his new position.
RHODES MAY HAVE BEEN DENIED SECURITY CLEARANCE January 5, 2017
A top White House national security adviser and key proponent of the Obama administration’s diplomacy with Iran is the focus of a congressional inquiry following disclosures the FBI may have denied him top-level security clearances, according to communications exclusively obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Ben Rhodes, a White House deputy national security adviser who led the administration’s efforts to mislead Congress about the terms of the Iran nuclear agreement, is under scrutiny in the wake of disclosures he was declined interim clearance status by the FBI in 2008, when the administration was moving into the White House.
Since that time, Rhodes has emerged as a key adviser to President Obama and a major player in the administration’s efforts to create a self-described pro-Iran deal “echo chamber” to mislead Congress and Americans about the terms of the Iranian nuclear agreement.
Lawmakers are now concerned that Rhodes’ access to the top levels of governmentincluding its diplomacy with Iranis inappropriate due to the FBI’s concerns about his past. . .

So you were there to know, see and hear exactly what was, or was not, said in all of those meetings and phone calls to qualify yourself to call Trump an ass. I agree that Flynn is a good man and he was railroaded not by Trump. As another has said here, there is far more insidious means at work here and I would in no way make the call as you did.
Your reactions are bordering on cranial rectumitus.
And therein lies the genius of the “Deep State” shadow government. Get Trump to appear in a bad light, while simultaneously signaling the other operatives still buried in the bureaucracy surrounding the “permanent” core of the Federal (or maybe Feral) government it is OK to unleash the next round of IEDs and land mines.
General Flynn is by no means fired, as in, “Never show up at the office again!” Just the title was removed, but you may be sure, that the talents of General Flynn are still being employed somewhere in the Trump organization.
For Sure there is a lot more. This is a war and Mr. Trump is aware of what is at stake. Sean Spicer is very careful to just say that Flynn was asked to go for a loss of trust. Maybe they can find a way back for trust to be restored.
At least the dark side got an apparent victory, but their battle efforts have been revealed.
Mr. Trump gains a major hand when he is able to proceed knowing crimes have been committed in the release of classified information. This is what HRC became famous for, and we can only hope that DOJ is back on the proper track.
I do not think we have heard the last of Mike Flynn. We have to see this played out. The dark side wants Mr. Trump's orange scalp. He must deny them.
Valerie Jarret’s “Iranians”?
That’s right - the guy with no fear is a weak ass and no way Flynn made the mistake of trying to tone down things (probably to protect Trump in case something had been wrong with what he did) down thereby making Pence and Spicer have to wipe some egg off their faces.<p.How about bending over and pulling some more solid facts out to impugn President Trump with - the LSM and the rabid Left need some more help.
Haha! Where's the fun in THAT? Every party has a pooper... ;-)
Rhodes is EVIL! He LIED to the AMerican public about the IRAN deal, and then BRAGGED about the LYING!!
Please quit calling the President an ass. You and I do not know exactly what went on between Trump and Flynn and what was worked out.
