What is his source for these numbers?

The article doesn't say what the source of data is.

The data may be from the Refugee Processing Center website. The Center is operated by the U.S Department of State. http://www.wrapsnet.org/about-us/about/

On demand reports can be generated here:

I selected 2/3/2017 through 2/15/2017, all countries, all religions. Click "view report", then saved to excel. It's not exactly the same numbers, the grand total differs by 17, but close enough.
