Yes, the “deep” state is very Hamiltonian in that attitude== they are the “intelligence” people and therefore are more intelligent than the rest of us, by virtue of their “special” knowledge (which they withhold from the little people).
All of which makes sense in a military intelligence function in warfare, but in a civilian state of a representative republic- there are civilian measures that legally should be giving oversight.

His last acts were to expand the NSA raw data intercepts to be distributed to 16 other intel agencies (16!!) with the huge potential for abuse of citizens, and domestic spying and .... the Federal police state. That is the nature of what President Trump is fighting— thank GOD he is. See Joseph DiGenova on Hannity last night... it is absolutely certain that criminal acts were done in the leaking and the “set up” to Pence. And yes, they could be “sponsoring”. In that sense, Trump would be wise to relegate Pence to a truman like VP role (like FDR did— truman didn’t know about the A-Bomb).
