Because California is not deep enough in the hole as it is.

Run like pension scandal or VA? The best thing to fix the system is to fire all those politicians who create the problem. I will be all for it.

So they want to “unionize” your doctor, dentist, pharmacist, therapist, and de facto regulate what your medication should cost? And you are saying the attitude of union workers is hatred of the ones who pay their high wages and great benefits?

Can you imagine how interested your new unionized doctor will be in your case or your precious child's?

A Colorado single-payer referendum was just defeated 4-1 last November as it would (among other things) have increased the Colorado income tax rate from 4.63% to an effective 14.63% rate.

Vermont tried mightily to adopt single-payer but gave up when the numbers showed it was impossible to levy big enough tax rate increases on this small population state to pay for it.

So, I say to California, why not! Go for it! Other states would love to have your remaining industries and your college educated workers.

Are they going to contact former governor Romney to set it up?

Yes, let’s provide the last coffin nails for the once great California.

I was also hoping Vermont would do it. It’s too bad they chickened out and canceled it before if even got started.

The worst display I can recall was during and after the start of the Greater Depression in 2007/2008, when the government was bailing out financial institutions and preventing them from giving taxpayer money to executives as bonuses. The governor of NY and mayor of NYC both insisted the bonuses be paid anyway, because both were dependent on the income taxes on those bonuses (NYC has a personal income tax).

The morality involved meant nothing to them.

I have trouble seeing Trump allowing the taxpayers to foot the bill for Kaliforina’s debacles as they do everything they can to try to thwart him - I picture him coming on TV and pointing out how Obama Care is a disaster and Kalifornia just proved how bad it really is.
