Remember the 1990s when the Clinton Administration attempted to make “Ebonics” an officially recognized dialect?
That decision would have forever hamstrung a segment of the black populace and required employers to ignore grammar skills when interviewing candidates.
I remember way back before that, when I was a child, that they were trying to get “Ebonics” taught in public schools to legitimize this bastardization of the English language. That was back in the early-to-mid 1970’s, after the word “Ebonics” was created in 1973. Fortunately, that died a rapid death among sane people.
